Reviewed at 2025-03-31: Rabat in a day - Driver was early (this was a good thing) and let us know as soon as he arrived. After a short drive into town we met Mohamed who took us through lots of places in the city of Rabat. Started at Hasan Tower which was terrific and then to the Royal Palace for an in-depth description of the guards, the grounds and the ongoings within the area. Later in the Medina we were able to do some shopping and see the city center with someone who really knows the city. Recommended for first-timers or those who have not had the opportunity to see the city in detail.
Evening Explorations: Discovering Hidden Gems
As the day winds down, take advantage of the extended daylight hours to explore Rabat’s hidden gems. The ancient Medina of Rabat is a labyrinth of narrow alleys where the past and present converge. Stroll through its bustling souks and traditional adobe buildings, where artisans craft their wares and the aroma of Moroccan spices fills the air.
For a more tranquil experience, head to Chellah, an archaeological site where Roman history intertwines with Islamic remnants. Wander through the ancient ruins and lush gardens, taking in the stunning views of the Bouregreg River. As the sun sets over the city, casting a warm glow over the landscape, you’ll find yourself captivated by the beauty and history that surrounds you.
