This excursion provides a delightful motu day with a barbecue, perfect for exploring the reef island. Participants will experience a unique lunar landscape on the ocean side of the motu. The dark volcanic rock, sculpted by erosion, creates a distinctive setting with numerous natural pools ideal for swimming. A variety of activities, including snorkeling, braiding, dolphin watching, and visiting the Tiputa aquarium, enhance the visit to this site, offering insights into Rangiroa and the Paumotu culture.
Program:
- 8:20 am: Transfer from the hotel
- 9:00 am: Departure from Ohotu
- 10:00 am: Arrival at the reef island, with a snack provided
- 10:30 am to 12:00 pm: Visit the “feo” and snorkel in a coral garden
- 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm: Enjoy an aperitif, lunch, and a weaving demonstration
- 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm: Free time for relaxation and swimming
- 2:15 pm: Departure from the “motu”
- 3:15 pm: Arrival at Tiputa Pass
- 3:15 pm: Visit to the Tiputa Pass (dolphin watching)
- 3:45 pm: Snorkeling at the aquarium
- 4:30 pm: Arrival at Ohotu quay and transfer back to the hotel
