The driver was very helpful - The driver was very friendly and looked after us well, there was an issue because I made the booking not knowing that me having a Thai wife would make the booking invalid however the driver was able to help us with the ticket office and we were able to go ahead with the trip. He was very helpful to us. I will make a suggestion that trip advisor make it clear about this policy as I was not aware of it until we turned up at the Ancient City

Different programme - Ancient city was a way to learn a little bit from all over Thailand, not true temples, but a representation of architecture and customs around Thailand. The guide we had knew a lot and was very loving and caring for us all the time!

Ancient city and Erawan Museum - The views were amazing, we took many photos. It is also within Bangkok premises, it wasn't very far from the hotel we stayed at.

Beautiful tour - It would be better to visit the ancient city and Erawan Museum in your own without booking a tour so you will be able to explore both areas without restraining yourself to the tour time frame.

This is for a DRIVER ONLY! There is NO tour GUIDE!!. - This is for a DRIVER ONLY! There is NO TOUR and NO GUIDE!! Despite being titled “Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museum” BE VERY CAREFUL. There are TWO versions of this excursion that are NOT readily clear. On the day that we checked for availability, there was.ONLY ONE option listed to select. Excited to see these sites, we booked it! I did notice that the reservation said “without official guide,” but we thought that meant we would not have guides who were employees of the Ancient City Bangkok and/or the Erawan Museum. Based on the title of this tour and the cost of this tour, we thought we would have someone with us to provide information about each location, even if that person was not “officially” officiated with these two sites. This hypothesis was further reinforced by the company assuring us of an English-speaking driver when we confirmed the day before. BUT ASK SPECIFICALLY IF YOU HAVE A GUIDE!! Our driver was a very kind and friendly guy (Wexu was the redeeming part of the tour!) and he had a clean and comfortable vehicle… but to our further frustration with this company, our driver had ZERO proficiency in English. (Thank goodness for Google Translate!) When we immediately contacted the company through Viator messaging about the absence of a guide, they were dismissive and just kept saying that our reservation said “no official guide.” The options when selecting the tour should say to be clear: “PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION AND ENTRY TICKETS ONLY, NO GUIDE AVAILABLE ON THIS DATE.” The correspondent for this company was unapologetic, stated there were no options other than to return to our hotel with no refund, and offered no conciliatory gesture. If you are making a decision about booking this tour, you should know that the per person entry fee for the Erawan Museum is 500 baht (about $15 USD) and the entry fee that includes the on-site lunch buffet for the Ancient City Bangkok is 950 Baht (about $30 USD). We paid double that, $90 per person, since we assumed the DOUBLED price was because it included TRANSPORTATION AND A GUIDE. The company informed us that IF a guide had been available, the price would have been TWICE AS MUCH per person. It would be a personal decision if you want to pay $180 per person in order to have $45 in entry tickets and the upcharge for a private car and a guide. Furthermore, this company applies a 350 baht ($11) charge if you want your driver (whom you have already paid for) to drive you around the truly enormous Ancient City Bangkok campus. If the walk seems daunting, it costs the same 350 baht to rent a golf cart from the Ancient City regardless of whether you arrived with this tour or arrived on your own. At the very least, we hope this review helps to clarify for the next person what you are purchasing… especially if (like our experience) there are NOT multiple options to select “with official guide” versus “without official guide” on the day that you happen to check availability. Again, we think the Ancient City Bangkok is a FIVE STAR MUST SEE. The Erawan Museum paled in comparison, but it was an okay garden with religious symbolism if you have the time. The only thing that kept this from being a one star rating is our driver was a very nice person and this is a worthy itinerary, but you do not have to go through this tour to see these sites… and especially if there is no guide on the day you want to go, it would be the same experience to go on your own and buy your own tickets.
