Oasis of tranquility and culture - We visited the island with Swynne, a very kind girl who, with tact, courtesy and deep knowledge, made us discover every corner of it. An island of tranquility in today’s fast-paced and complex India. A cultural oasis, where the Portuguese presence blends harmoniously with the Hindu tradition, including temples, churches and interesting archaeological sites.
Delicious Swynne then accompanied us to lunch with a nice family who, in addition to preparing traditional dishes but not too spicy, welcomed us warmly, sharing stories and experiences.
English translation:
We visited the island with Swynne, a very kind young woman who, with tact, grace, and deep knowledge, helped us discover every corner of it. A cultural oasis as well, where the Portuguese heritage blends harmoniously with Hindu tradition, among temples, churches, and fascinating archaeological sites.
The delightful Swynne also took us to lunch with a lovely family who not only prepared delicious traditional dishes, mildly spiced, but also welcomed us warmly, sharing stories and experiences with us.

Chronicles & Echoes of Divar Island Heritage Trail - I took the Chronicles & Echoes of Divar Island trail this evening, and I must say it was an incredibly informative experience. The history of this serene island dates back to the Kadamba dynasty, when Queen Kamaladevi commissioned the construction of a grand temple. One of the most fascinating parts of the tour was learning about the recently excavated temple pond, which reveals layers of Goa’s buried history, stories that remain largely untold among the general public.
Our storyteller, Ms. Swynne Figueiredo, was truly exceptional. She guided us through every lane, church, and architectural landmark of the island with deep knowledge and grace. Her narration was clear and engaging, and her coordination with the hosts for the evening high tea was seamless. She exudes warmth and gentleness, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
This trail is undoubtedly one of the must-do experiences in Goa, especially for those interested in exploring its pre-colonial past and understanding the transition of power from the Kadambas to later dynasties like the Adil Shahis, and eventually to the Portuguese.

Great Day Out on Divar Island - I went on a tour of Divar Island with my family and this was arranged by Make It Happen. It was a wonderful experience, just like my previous tours with MIH. Our storyteller Swynne was knowledgeable. We got to know things about the local churches, temples and other sites that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. The tour ended with a delicious Goan lunch with a local family. Highly recommended!

Everything is so lovely - This program will be better if the guest can ride a motorbike and bring vehicles, I was so lucky that I got friends who brought the car, so I can go with them. Also Swyney-di (story teller) is very sweet, polite, and has a lot of empathy for the guest. I'm very impressed ✨
About the place, I thought we might visit 2-3 temples, but it end up we have visited a lot of places like Special rock seats for people who walk on the main road, Dadeshwar Temple, Saptakoteshwar tank, Church of lady piety, Water level doors, etc.
For lunch, they came up with a huge set of Goan Authentic! I tried Uraq (not included in the package but it wasn't expensive), Chicken Cafreal, Fish Rava fry, Banana fry, Chicken drumstick curry, etc. they were all delicious
I promise I will come back to Goa and be the guest of Make it Happens again!

A storyteller who brings Divar Island alive - We recently did a Divar Island tour with Pawan from Make It Happen, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Goa. Pawan is an exceptional guide – he doesn’t just give you facts, he tells you stories. Every lane, every old chapel, every scenic viewpoint came alive with his anecdotes. He has a remarkable depth of knowledge about the island’s history, culture, architecture, and local life, and he shares it in such a natural, engaging way that you never feel like you’re on a typical “tour.”
What sets him apart is his storytelling – he weaves history, folklore, and local trivia together so well that you truly feel connected to the place. He also knows all the hidden corners and little details you would never notice on your own, which makes the experience feel authentic and special.
If you’re looking to experience Divar Island beyond the usual tourist spots, with someone who is warm, insightful, and a true storyteller, I cannot recommend Pawan enough. He made us fall in love with the island and its charm.

Chronicles & Echoes of Diwar Island - Loved the heritage walk at Divar Island!
Swynee was an incredible storyteller who brought the island’s history alive. Our host, Agnes Monteiro, made us feel so welcome, and the food was absolutely delicious. The afternoon was beautifully with soulful music by Luis Rodrigues. A perfect blend of stories, culture, and Goan warmth—I’d highly recommend it!
