A Fun and Informative Outing - The meetup location is a winery. Inside you can see where the wines are bottled and barrels are stored. What you're really paying for is a journey by aged Land Rover into a nearby cork farm with your guide. You get to learn about the cork trees, how they are "harvested", and the various inter-related activities on the farm, such as how Iberian pigs are raised, that all work together to create a thriving ecosystem.
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The pace is fairly relaxed. You're just going along for the ride and getting out in a couple of places to look more closely at things. On subsequent days, we could recognize the difference between Cork and Holm Oak trees and identify virgin cork and in some places how long it was the trees were last harvested. It added another dimension to our trip.
Finally, we opted for the lunch at a local restaurant afterwards. The restaurant had nice decor and the food was decent but didn't knock my socks off.

Cork Safari in beautiful sunshine and blooming flowers 🌸🌼 - Many thanks to Chantal for the fun and informative tour! She explained everything to us in detail and it was no problem with our little dog. The old Land Rover was the icing on the cake. We can fully recommend the tour, and the food in the restaurant was also delicious for our taste. :-)

Cork Jeep tour with the family - We did on Friday 05/2024 the Cork safari with the 4x4 cars. It was an amazing and learningfull experience. Our children an grandchildren loved it 👍👍👍
The Owners of the property are very sympathetic and friendly.
What made the trip even more special - beside the amazing nature and landscape views - was our Portugese guide Celino. He gave a really inspiring and interactive explanation on how the Cork is harvested and what products can be made of it … He also gave a very educational view on the history and also gave a lot of extra answers on all our questions. Celina made the trip a real top event, so we can absolutely recommend it to all people that visit the region.

An educational and exciting experience for culture lovers! - See the cork trees and vineyards traveling choosing between a comfortable SUV ride or a thrilling (and bumpy) jeep ride.
I went as part of a Gadventures tour group and we took both varying each way. Our guides Andre and Margarita showed us around the farm, regaling us with it's history and explaining how the cork, Holm oaks, and grapes are used in regional goods. They also showed us a recently uncovered dolmen still in the process of being excavated. Later, they dropped us off at a local restaurant for lunch where we were treated to home cooking (which I'm not sure is usually included).
Both guides were affable and highly knowledgeable, eagerly answering questions and offering a hand as needed. The food, was likewise delicious, but that deserves its own review!
