Soon, the journey reaches Krousonas, and a dirt road running parallel to the gorge leads to the plateau. This picturesque area is dotted with thousands of pear and apple trees.
The dirt road guides travelers to the Nida plateau, where they can visit Idaion Andron, the cave where Zeus was nurtured. On the return trip, there is a stop at Ancient Zominthos, a significant archaeological site in Crete discovered in 1982.
From there, the journey continues to Anogia for a visit to a traditional kafenion. Next, there is a visit to Axos village, allowing free time at the woodcraft museum.
The trip proceeds to Livadia and the Psiloritis Chalet Retreat, where a cooking lesson on traditional cheese and local specialties awaits.
The return to Heraklion follows the provincial road from Heraklion to Anogia.
