Excellent - Great tour. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, but the places we visited were still beautiful. Karen and Volo, the guide and driver were helpful and informative. There was just about the right amount of time at each stop. The coach was comfortable and warm. The northern lights part of our tour was cancelled, and we are awaiting a partial refund, but that is just how it goes, it didn't detract from the earlier part of the tour.

Fantastic - The views and experience were so incredible, the bus, staff and service could have been awful and I would still recommend the trip. They were not awful though, the coach was comfortable, the guides knowledgeable and friendly, I have already advised friends and family to take the same trip. The northern lights aren't exactly what you may see in pro photos, but when I went they were easily visible to the naked eye, with a recognisable green tint and dancing across the sky.

A Combo Must Do Tour Covering Golden Circle and Northern Lights - This bus tour operated by Reykjavik sightseeing covers 1. Pingvellir national park (45 minutes-1 hour stop) where you get see the shifting North American and Eurasian Tectonic plates, the site of the oldest parliament and a small water fall 2. Geyser Hot spring area (1 hour) where you can see the Srokkur geyser spouting a 30-35 meter high plume of water and steam every 6-10 Minutes.3. Extremely beautiful Gullfoss waterfall. The Northern Lights part of our tour got cancelled on the day we did the Golden circle tour - they will reschedule you to the next day or any day convenient to you for doing the Northern Lights free of cost. Since Northern Lights part of the tour has a high probability of getting cancelled due to weather conditions, it is preferable that you do this tour on the first day or at your earliest day of your trip so that you get more chances to reschedule and see the Northern lights. The buses were comfortable , had free wifi and the accompanying guides would give you detailed information on the history , geography and culture of Iceland in addition to the information about the sights you are covering as part of the tour. In particular we were quite impressed by the detailed scientific explanation of the Northern Lights phenomenon given to us by the aged guide (sorry -could not get his name) in very simple easy to understandable manner. The stop durations are Ok -we would say the time is just about sufficient in the first stop at Pingvellir national park . For the Northern lights tour which starts at around 2100 , dress appropriately since you will be out braving strong, cold winds at the sea near a lighthouse (Grotta Lighthouse) till around midnight. The tour reporting location is Bus Hostel about 20minutes walk from downtown Reykjavik - you can also opt for hotel pick ups at additional costs. You can book through tour consolidators like Get Your Guide for a better discounted rate .

I like Iceland! - This was my third trip to Iceland! I really enjoy the country as I try to see the Northern Lights. I was successful and saw them on my second trip but not so lucky this time. This trip was with two first-time visitors to Iceland so I did the Golden Circle tour with them for my second time. My first time had been in a January so a little warmer weather on this tour in September. The guide provided some additional information. The same sightseeing spots but still I learned some new things. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at the restaurant at the Geysir. Even with all the busses, we were seated quickly and served. That night, we were one of at least five buses that went back to the National Park looking for the Northern Lights. The groups bumped around in darkness but no sightings. After more than an hour of looking at nothing, the guide urged everyone to get off and look again. The sighting was only visible with your cellphone camera and, even then, just barely. But I had been lucky on my second trip and had seen an amazing display of green Northern Lights so this was quite disappointing. But its nature and you may or may not have a sighting. Even so, my friends and I did enjoy the experience.

Uncomfortable and disappointing coach. - Great trip, great guide BUT spoiled. My wife and I did two tours. The tour guides were both friendly and informative. However the buses were not up to the standard that you advertise! Neither bus could be described as luxury. Both had the same problems. The legroom was not adequate. I’m only 5’10” nut there was not enough room. I spent hours on both trips with my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front, or had to sit sideways. which is painful and uncomfortable. The other problem was that only half the seats had USBs, and most of them didn’t work, so our phones ran out of battery charge with the result that on the Golden Circle tour we missed some photo opportunities.

Unclear Vouchers and an Unreliable Guide - We purchased the Golden Circle + Northern Lights tour one month before the excursion. They emailed us the voucher but the voucher only showed the title of the tour "Golden Circle and Aurora Borealis" without any clear description of the tour stops (national park, geysers, etc.), what we would see, what was included and what was not included. In short, opening the voucher you could only understand that we had to arrive at Reykjavik Terminal 15 minutes before the scheduled departure at 12pm. At the end of the Golden Circle tour (about 7 pm), the bus did not take us back to the Rekjavijk Terminal but to the bus station closest to our hotel. When I asked the Guide if they would pick us up from the hotel for the Northern Lights Tour, the Gunni Guide - after consulting with the Oppi driver - said yes and that we had to wait outside the Hotel starting at 9 PM because the pickup would be between 9 and 9:30 PM. When we saw that the bus was not arriving, we called Rekjavijk Sightseeing who - despite the message saying that they answer 24/7- did not answer the phone. We called the tour operator who told us that our voucher did not provide for hotel pick-up and that we had not shown up for the second part of the Tour. To our complaints that to our precise question, the Guide had told us more and we trusted, the operator told us that we could not prove it!! It was enough that: 1) the voucher clearly indicated - in addition to the various STOPS of the Tour - also WHAT THE TOUR INCLUDED AND WHAT WAS NOT INCLUDED (pick-up from the Hotel for both the Golden Circle Tour and the Northern Lights Tour); this would make everything simpler and clearer because we would also take a taxi for the second part of the Tour. 2) the Guide had provided information only after having properly informed himself with the service provider instead of saying something that then turned out not to be true and made us miss the second part of the Tour that for someone who comes to Iceland for a few days represents a significant loss / damage. I do not Recommendation this tour provider due to the lack of clarity of its vouchers and to use guides who give information without first consulting with those who should.
