White Glaciers & Black Sands

Jokulsarlon - Travel east along the southern coast to the remarkable Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. The Lagoon, formed around 60 years ago, features a continuous process of calving and falling icebergs from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier tongue. These icebergs appear in milky white and bright blue hues, a play of light and ice crystals. The Lagoon is teeming with fish that drift in from the sea with the tides. Seals gather in large numbers at the Lagoon’s mouth to catch fish during winter, offering a spectacular sight.

Diamond Beach Jokulsarlon - Nearby, explore Diamond Beach, famous for its striking black sand adorned with sparkling icebergs washed ashore. These icebergs, originating from the glacier lagoon, create a breathtaking contrast against the dark volcanic sand, making it a favorite spot for photographers and nature lovers. The ever-changing landscape of ice fragments glistening in the sunlight offers a unique and captivating experience.

Vatnajokull National Park - On the return trip, journey through the stunning Vatnajökull National Park. Volcanos, Waterfalls and the Blue Lagoon
