A touching experience in downtown Reykjavík - My second time on this tour and even better than I remembered. Food was great, booze was on point and our guide Johnny was terrific as always. Highly recommend. Would go again.

Best local insights & history, fantastic food, drinks, and fun! - Svenni was our guide, and instantly felt like an old friend (as evidenced by all the locals and tourists who greeted him along our way). A laid-back and conversational vibe made learning about local legends and lore interesting and effortless. Svenni joined us for each tasting adventure and seemed to have as much fun as we did! One of my favorite local insights was that Svenni was able to tell us about some special stores with true local craftsmanship, so we could find authentic Icelandic clothing and wares made by hand, by real people (rather than “designed in Iceland” and then manufactured overseas!). It was really helpful to know how to channel our tourist funds to the true local economy, rather than the tourist traps. It was great fun to sample some of Iceland’s more exotic foods, as well as some exciting new tastes that I’ll now permanently crave. Svenni also found several ways to make the tour surprisingly personal and intimate. Our friend group of six made up most of the group, but we made friends with a solo traveler from Scotland too, which was an added bonus. The walking tour with historical facts, punctuated by divine and/or infamous food and drinks made this tour nonstop fun and fascination. Svenni was the best! I could not recommend this tour more wholeheartedly. Do not miss!!

Fun and informative - We had a great time with Nordic nonsense. The guide was knowledgeable and funny. He was able to add personal stories to every point of interest to keep the history side from getting too dry. The food and drink stops were perfect. We got to taste the expected Icelandic food that now only tourist eat (looking at you fermented shark) and amazing food that is eaten on the regular. There was a lot of walking but it was at a manageable pace.

Best Food Tour - We had the best time on this tour! The foods we tried were excellent- we DID get to try a tiny bite of the fermented shark. There were so many new foods to try and great drinks to have on the tour - also we got some great recommendations from our guide. 10/10

Actually, this is a... - Actually, this is a city walk and food tour in one! We meet Sven at the famous Hallgrímskirkja in the center. From there we walk through the city and he tells about the main sights. Along the way we stop at five locations for a snack and/or a drink. From traditional Icelandic dishes, such as fermented shark and meat soup, to modern cocktails and a tasting at a local brewery. Delicious dishes with matching drinks and useful background info. Meanwhile, we also received useful tips from this local for the rest of our trip. Money more than worth it, highly recommended!

He took us to the best places in Reykjavik (which we revisited again on our trip since we loved them). We had such a wide range of foods and excellent beers. We definitely had our moneys worth of food and loved getting a tour from a local. Amazing experience - What an amazing evening with Jon our tour guide. It’s been one of my highlights in Reykjavik doing this tour. Definitely value for money with the amount of food and drink and then the added bonus of the knowledge and friendly tour guide Jon. You need to do this tour at the beginning of your holiday to get bearings and find fantastic places to eat .
