This small-group experience is limited to 6 participants per guide, ensuring personalized attention and a safe, unforgettable, bucket-list adventure.
- Minimum age is 12 years old. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian booked on the same tour.
- PLEASE BRING: Warm base layers, preferably made from fleece or wool (not cotton), warm socks, a small towel and a change of clothes (just in case)
- All guests must carefully review our Snorkeling Handbook before the tour to make sure everyone can safely participate>
- All participants must be able to swim and understand English to be able to safely participate in the tour
- This is a small group tour ensuring a more personalized experience limited to 6 participants per guide.
- Size Requirements: Weight limit: 45-120kg. Height limit: 150cm – 200cm.
- Glasses cannot be worn under the goggles. Please bring contact lenses if required.
- Pregnant women are unfortunately unable to participate due to the risk of cold water entering the suit.
- Medical issues outlined in our handbook require doctors approval to join the tour. Some conditions mean guests cannot participate.

Incredible experience - Hernán was the best guide!! - Incredible experience snorkelling over the fissure in Silfra. The tour was well-organized and Hernán was the best guide. Warm, patient, charming, and professional - he smoothly ensured everyone was comfortable at all times, whether getting the suit on, handling the cold, or navigating the fissure. And knew exactly how to calmly handle anyone struggling in the water. I came straight from an overnight flight and he made me forget about the lack of sleep and crack some laughs. Muchas gracias, Hernán :)

Absolutely incredible experience at Silfra with guide Hernan! - To summarize: this was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! The views were absolutely stunning & our guide Hernan was incredible!
The longer version:
This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. As soon as you arrive at the meeting point, you start to get changed into the insulated suit & dry suit combo. The suits were challenging to get on, especially because there were 20mph winds with 35mph gusts and a feels like temp of 6 degrees Fahrenheit the day of our tour! It was only my second day in Iceland and I was still trying to learn how to layer properly, especially for windy conditions, and man the cold was no joke! Despite all that, or perhaps because of it, there was a strong sense of camaraderie among the guests who signed up for the tour. Everyone was helping each other get their suits on, catch stuff that started to fly away, and generally make sure that we were all doing good. Our guide Hernan was especially adept at making sure people were physically and emotionally comfortable. He took great care to make sure we were sealed into our suits properly so water wouldn’t get in, even adding an extra seal around the neck after I described feeling some movement there.
Once we walked over to the entry point for the water, I was admittedly super cold and super nervous. Hernan informed us that the first stretch of the fissure was a sort of trial zone where you could turn back if you weren’t feeling good. I had no idea if I’d make it past that point but I was determined to try!
The minute I got into the water, all doubt left my head. I couldn’t wait to keep exploring and taking in the incredible sights around me. In the dry suit contraption, there are two poses they teach you to take—a snorkel pose & a rest pose. Both were amazing. If I was snorkeling, I could look at the absolutely enchanting landscape below. If I was resting, I could watch the beautiful sunrise against the rock formations. To say I was moved by nature’s wonder would be an understatement.
As a layering novice, I made the mistake of wearing two pairs of tights from fear I’d be cold. This unfortunately restricted my movement quite a bit when I was trying to swim & the wind was creating a bit of a current. I let Hernan know I was having trouble maneuvering & he kept an eye on me & would gently steer me along the whole way. I felt both supported but free to swim & explore & revel in the wonder all around me.
By the time we got to the end, it felt like it was over all too soon. I had been dreading the walk back from the water to the van because I was worried about how cold I’d be after having gotten into the water, but the excitement and adrenaline of having experienced something so great kept me going. We got back & the guides all made quick work of getting us out of our suits & getting some hot cocoa into our hands.
I am so glad I signed up for this tour! Even though it was really cold and really windy, I genuinely feel like the challenge of going through this tour under those conditions enhanced the experience overall. It led to a much more profound sense of satisfaction, gratitude, and appreciation for nature & my body for doing the thing. I genuinely could not recommend this tour enough!

Freezing but worth it! - Loved the experience but hated getting the dry suit on! It cannot be put on with gloves or mittens so your hands are frozen by the end of getting the dry suit on. The dry suit itself is frozen and difficult to pull up. Once you’re in the water, you actually feel warmer. It’s an experience like no other, to be floating between two tectonic plates! Our guide Marcin (funny guy) was always checking up on each and every one of us. At the end, I got a leg cramp and he helped me get to the exit dock. I highly recommend this tour but be sure to wear double thermals and double wool socks. I wish I had those little hand warmers and foot warmers for afterwards.

Nico is amazing - Did the snorkelling tour hosted my Nico and it was truly an experience, freezing cold but Nico’s humour and warm personality made the whole experience worth it. Would 100% recommend this activity
