• Volcano Eyjafjallajokull - As we travel to the Thórsmörk valley, we will pass by one of the most renowned volcanoes, admiring its magnificent ice cap. We will observe the remnants of the infamous 2010 eruption of Eyjafjallajökull, which gained significant media attention due to the disruption it caused to European air travel.
• Thorsmork - Welcome to Thórsmörk, or The Valley of Thor, named after the Norse God of Thunder! This place is a true gem for both mythology lovers and nature enthusiasts. With lush green moss, ferns, and birch forests framed by impressive mountain ranges on the horizon, let’s take a moment to appreciate these breathtaking views before moving on to the next attraction.
• Valahnúkur - A rewarding 1.5-hour trek will leave both your legs and eyes eager for more thrilling experiences. Needless to say, the view of the Valley from the mountain’s summit is even more spectacular and unforgettable.
• Stakkholtsgjá canyon - The ethereal Stakkholtsgjá canyon, located in the southern Icelandic Highlands, presents a massive challenge—literally! Stretching around 2 km and flanked by 100-meter-high, moss-covered walls, the canyon offers a highly rewarding hiking trail and one of Iceland’s most dramatic landscapes. A charming waterfall is hidden within a twisting gorge, waiting for us at the trail’s end.
