Volcanic adventure - Great day. Awesome guide. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information. It was safe. The hiking is moderate but it can difficult for older people or not in good physical condition. Blue lagoon was amazing. Highly recommend this tour.

Our favourite day trip, lava fields, geysers and the blue lagoon - Fabulous day out with Gut, our super knowledgeable guide. He kept us well Informed all day, it never felt rushed and we had some amazing experiences. The hike was different to what we expected (my misunderstanding as I thought we were walking for 2 hours and going up a volcano), it was a bit challenging as the lava underfoot is rocky in places but not arduous or a long hike, plenty of time for photos and a surprise treat whilst on the lava. The place we stopped for lunch (not included, and thus was clearly advertised) was great and as it’s Iceland not cheap but the fish and chips were great. Driving around Grindavík was particularly moving. The blue lagoon was great too and we were able to upgrade in advance to the premium package instead of standard for an extra drink and extra masks for a small additional fee/ If you are interested in volcanoes this is a must do tour, and was probably the best tour over our 9 days in Iceland.

Hiking adventure topped off with relaxation - HBO (our tour guide) ran a well organized tour through the volcanic Southern peninsula of Iceland. He cracked some jokes every now and then, explained how much time we have at stops, and provided some geographic/historical information when necessary. Overall friendly and sociable guide that's welcoming to any tourist. The tour itself was great, we got to see plenty of natural volcanic features in the region, and had plenty of opportunities to take photos. I also got the Blue Lagoon upgrade to the tour package which I also really enjoyed. Those of us who got dropped there had plenty of time to enjoy the experience, it didn't feel rushed at all. My one area of criticism is that the volcano hike was a bit too slow paced for my liking (which I did expect due to the group size). If we stopped less we could have covered more ground and got to see the actual main crater to the 2021 eruption. Overall, highly recommended to do this tour if staying in Reykjavik.

What a day. - Hler, was a very good guide. The areas visited were wonderful. The walk to the Volcano is some walk. I could be proven wrong, but close to 5k. I’m almost 70 and managed it in heavy snow boots. The information Hler imparts on the way up is excellent. The views are spectacular and Hler is frequently checking on his group. Add to this that the Blue Lagoon is included makes this spectacular tour. Oh and Hler if you read this. I have already got your book. 👍

Siggi’s volcano hike and tour - Siggi was brilliant, he was really engaging and gave us a great tour around the volcanic belts in the peninsula just off Reykjavik. He gave us witty and fun commentary throughout the whole trip making it really great fun. He was motivating on the hike and even went through some local history. Thanks siggi it was great 😀

Spectacular but know your limits - Both the Volcano hike and blue lagoon were spectacular but there are a couple of important things to consider before you book this tour. The Volcano hike was very difficult for us as we are not avid hikers. The pace was rather fast and although we managed to get all the way through the hike, it was not without difficulty (lots of stopping and lots of water). The guide was very kind, encouraging, and understanding. Hiking boots are a must. Do not even attempt this without them. The reason this tour is a four out of five instead of a five out of five is because of the pick up arrangement and the bus quality. The seats we sat in were loose and so whenever the bus stopped or started moving, they jolted dramatically. As for pickup, the tour company has a small bus pick you up in Reykjavik and then drives to a parking lot where you wait for a larger tour bus to arrive. We did not actually depart for our 8 am tour until 8:40 am. Our tour guide was wonderful and the stops were breathtaking and we had plenty of time to explore them both. I would recommend this tour to anyone who hikes or is physically fit.
