A Whale Watching adventure departing from Old harbour in downtown Reykjavik. We sail into Faxaflói bay in search of Minke and Humpback whales, Dolphins and Harbour porpoises.
On this tour, you will also experience the spectacular views of the mountains and islands around Reykjavik as well as the wonderful bird life. On board we have warm overalls, heated spacious indoor cabins, a nice bar and free WiFi.
- NOTE: You should schedule to be at our departure point at least 30 minutes before scheduled departure.

The only awkward moment... - The only awkward moment was at the beginning - while we booked the tour with Reykjavik Sailors, but ended up at the boat of Special tours. And it was needed to check in inside the office of Special tours, which we somehow didnt know, and thought we will be picked up by someone. Anyway, that's the only comment I have. The tour itself was magical, we've seen the group of whales that was simply beautiful.

Best experience of my life!!! Felt conne - Expect the least to get fully excited when you actually encounter whales. We had an amazing experience of being around two humpback whales which were actually human watching!!!

On the ship Andrea - a review by Andrea - On this whale watching journey, it was during a rainy day and the seas were rough. The crew was awesome!! Love the complimentary Meclizine as I forgot to take mine and put on my patches 🙃. We saw white beaked dolphins and minke whales. I love our warm suits to be outside on the viewing deck. Again - cannot praise the crew enough for their professionalism and education about the bay!!

Great tour with professional staff - Although the water was a bit rough, we had a wonderful cruise. The staff was very attentive, friendly and professional. The ride to the whale watching area was ~ 30 minutes. We saw quite a few dolphins and whales. I even captured a small shark. The cruise also passed out motion sickness pills. They also have a small snack area you can purchase food, drinks and coffee. Overall it was a great experience.

We had an amazing whale... - We had an amazing whale watching trip from Reykjavík! We were lucky to see many whales during the tour, and it was truly unforgettable to watch them so close in their natural environment. The crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. It’s such a unique way to connect with Iceland’s incredible nature — I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Reykjavík!

Whale watching - Great experience! We started the tour at 17:00 and saw a lot of humpbacks and whales up close, some even seemed to be performing for us, thanks to the captain who promptly moved to ensure we had the best view! All staff were friendly and professional. Absolutely recommended this tour, which alone was worth the trip to Iceland.

Had a whale of time :) - We had an amazing time on our whale watching trip in Iceland. Within just two hours, we had several sightings and even got to see whales up close — an unforgettable experience! The crew was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about marine life, which made the trip even more enjoyable. Everything was well-organized, the boat was comfortable, and safety was a top priority.
Seeing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat was truly magical. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Iceland!

Excellent - Excellent trip. We saw lots of humpback whales, a minke whale and puffins. Staff were great. Very good communication and organisation both from Viator and Reykjavik Sailors so that I knew exactly where and when to meet.

A whale of a good time - Well that was better than expected. I really didn’t expect to see so many whales and dolphins! I enjoyed our guide but I must say I really enjoyed the other cruisers who were experienced watchers. The interaction on board was FUN. the duration was just right. Maybe broadcast the discussion afterwards because there was no room to sit down

perfect whalewatching - We booked the tour on 08.08.25. ES were so many whales to see, the big humpback whales jumped!! A beautiful experience. The tour highly recommended and the Service friendly, many explanations from the guide.
