An absolute blast - This was such a blast!! My wife and I visited Frankfurt for our anniversary and we wanted to do something special on the day. So glad we picked this! Our house Carl was awesome! He picked us up and had wine ready to go on arrival! We visited 2 wineries and had more wine than we can drink (not kidding, be prepared to have a lot). He also provided a charcuterie board and some lunch to help soak everything up. What a blast, definitely should check this out of you have the opportunity!

5 Stars are NOT enough! - 5 stars are NOT enough. Really can’t say enough wonderful things about spending a day in Rhine Valley wine country with Carl. I live in SoCal. We have a lot of wine regions all around me and I have spent days on wine tours here. Carl makes exploring wine in Germany a treat. He catered to our taste AND picked an excellent venue for lunch. Venison meatballs were divine. Don’t hesitate to book a day with Carl. PS…take him up on shipping. Mine arrived in a couple weeks. Prost!

If you have the chance, you should take this tour. You won’t be disappointed! - Carl is the bomb! Very knowledgeable of the area and the wine. The wineries we stopped at the employees and owners know him and cater to his customers. We simply could not have had a better experience!

Beautiful Tour of German Wineries - Had an amazing time! We visited 3 great wineries and had a delicious lunch. Carl was incredibly knowledgeable and was the perfect guide. He was able to help with shipping wine as well. Would definitely book with him again.

A Wonderful Wine Experience - Our wine tour guide was wonderful! We know a bit about wine generally, but his discussions about Rieslings we tasted were educational, interesting and, most importantly, fun. We highly recommend this wine experience.

An incredible day visiting wineries - We were scheduled to have a layover in Frankfort on our flight from Las Palmas to Houston, so we decided to stay an extra day and go on a wine tour. We were tired from the whole trip and my wife expressed her opinion that we might just skip the tour, but then decided to go. It was a wise choice as we thoroughly enjoyed everything. We booked the all day Grape Escapes Rhine Valley tour. Carl with Weinköpfe Grape Escapes was incredible as he told us all about the wines and the grapes as well as the topology and soil of the vineyards. Carl drove on the back roads through beautiful vineyards and quaint villages while providing interesting commentary. We visited four wineries and tasted several wines at each one. We had always considered Riesling wine to be very sweet and did not like it at all until Carl introduced us to great Riesling’s that were very dry and tasted great. We would unconditionally recommend this tour to anyone interested in wine.

Really a great day. 10am-4pm visited 3 wineries - Carl does a great job and is very knowledgeable. This is a private or semi private tour. We tried white and red Rieslings and everyone at the wineries was very polite and helpful. The lunch stop was delicious. Carl was very flexible and was able to pick us up at one hotel and drop us off at another at the end of the day. We really appreciated his vibrance, positive attitude, and just general happy demeanor.

Wine for a non-winer - The wine bar that was our last stop was absolutely incredible. I don't usually like wine, but there wasn't a single wine Carl recommended that I didn't like. Absolute 5-star host.

We Went The Wrong Way! - Pickup at hotel was really nice. Carl was great & first thing when I got in car, he served me delicious Riesling Brut, my favorite! But then instead of driving to the advertised Rheinhessen region, Frankfurt to Mainz, we drove 40 minutes south to pick up another guest in Mannheim & then 20 minutes to 2 wineries in the south that were fun but not what was expected. Lunch was good but would preferred local dishes rather than flatbread. So too much time in car both directions, only 2 wineries & not the area/towns specified… I was really looking forward to seeing the Rhine River vineyards and Mainz, so it was disappointing. Always loved using Viator & will try again. Joan
