Excursion to Lindos 15 Km

Lindos - Embark on an intriguing circular tour to enjoy the stunning view of Lindos Bay from a prime location, traverse the village, and explore the Acropolis, all while being accompanied by the refreshing scent and sight of the sea throughout the journey. The adventure begins above Vliha Bay and proceeds through a captivating rocky landscape. The journey continues on a gentle uphill path, surrounded by rocks, with donkeys as companions. The view then opens up to a panoramic vista over Navarone Bay, renowned for the film “The Guns of Navarone.” After a few hundred meters, admire the Acropolis from above, which majestically overlooks the iconic white village of Lindos, known as “the pearl of the Dodecanese.” From here, the descent follows a sometimes challenging path, crosses the village, and continues towards the Acropolis, the tomb of Kleovulos, before returning to Vliha Bay, the starting point, for a refreshing swim.

Monolithos - Akramitis Excursion 13 Km

Akramitis - Journey through a dense forest, a hidden cave, and rocky paths to reach the summit of the island’s most beautiful and verdant mountain. Following a charming woodland path, discover a cave concealed within the mountain: “Limeri.” This cave, significant during World War II, served as a base for espionage and housed a radio station for partisan movements. Continuing past the small church of Ag. Ioannis, reach the peak of the island’s second mountain: Mount Akramitis. Here, lush greenery meets the “Aegean blue” for a breathtaking view. After lunch in Monolithos, proceed on foot to the castle perched on a 236m high monolith, which lends it its name and was never conquered due to its strategic position. Today, only some external fortifications and two 15th-century chapels remain, along with the stunning view of Akramitis, the island of Halki, and the expansive blue Aegean.

Tour of the Monasteries 22 Km

Laerma - Embark on an excursion to uncover ancient monasteries hidden in the wooded hills of Laerma and Lardos. Thyme, oregano, and wild sage invigorate the senses along the entire path, accompanied by unique vistas and unforgettable aromas. The journey begins in the quaint hilltop village of Laerma, situated at an altitude of 289 meters in the island’s central/southern region. The walk follows an easy woodland path, with key points of interest including the ancient monastery of Tharri, now reinhabited by Orthodox monks, the monastery of Iggo, and Ipseni, a female monastery dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and among the oldest on the island. Nearly two centuries after its founding, it transitioned from “male” to “female” and was restored. Currently, a new church is nearing completion alongside, and a Via Crucis leads to a panoramic viewpoint over the entire area. From Ipseni, a pleasant descent through the woods leads to Glystra.

Aghati - Tsambika Excursion 15 km

Tsambika Beach - This excursion visits the most beautiful bays in the island’s central/southern region: golden sand, red pebbles, and rocks sculpted by wind and water create a truly diverse walk that culminates with the ascent to the magnificent Tsambika monastery. This is one of the most beautiful treks in the program, ideal for those wishing to explore the most picturesque and untamed beaches of the east coast. It begins at Agathi Bay: the renowned “Golden Sand.” From here, the path continues, sometimes challenging, along the cliff near the sea, and after a necessary stop at the lesser-known but enchanting red beach, leads up to Stegna. This village is famous for its tavernas and the crystal-clear waters of its bay. From Stegna, the excursion continues to the famous Tsambika Beach. Starting at the base of the promontory and following a steep path and then a staircase of 300 steps, you will arrive at the small chapel of the Virgin Mary, located at the highest point of the hill.

Salakos - Profitis Ilias and 7 Springs Excursion

Profitis Ilias - This excursion allows you to savor the magic of the forest, surrounded by enchanting views and unique vegetation on the island. Starting from the village of Salakos, follow an old mule track leading to a garden, continue towards the two Tyrolean-style hotels, and proceed to the mountain’s summit. From here, the view is truly breathtaking. Descend to the Elafos hotel and then continue by bus to the seven springs near Kolymbia. The entire area, rich in springs, makes “Epta Piges” a small refreshing oasis. The path continues along the small river, passing through an ancient dam and climbing up to the famous seven springs. Here, ducks and peacocks are happy to be admired and photographed. Experience the thrill of crossing a narrow and intriguing tunnel with fresh water that wets your feet.
