Private Wine Tour in Rhodes - We booked this tour in advance before arriving in Rhodes and customised it to our specific requirements to combine vineyard visits with some historical insights. Aga, our guide and driver for the day, collected us from our hotel. He was professional, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour which made the day truly memorable. He shared fascinating insights into the history of the Old Town, The Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes and the modern part of Rhodes, whilst also giving us a glimpse into contemporary life on the island. Opportunity to take some photographs overlooking Mandraki harbour where the two bronze deer statues stand at its entrance. Next we saw the Acropolis of Rhodes, then drove up some very steep hills to Mount Filerimos, where he had a short walk and saw the graceful peacocks roaming freely. Our tour took us to the wine region of Embonas, with the first stop at Cava Stafylos. There we tasted a wonderful selection of wines - dry and sweet; red, white, and rosé, perfectly paired with local cheese and natural black olives. There was a souvenir shop offering locally made olive oils, natural cosmetics, honey and aromatic herbs. Our next stop took us to Kounaki winery where we did the "Enthusiasts" sampling session and tasted a wide variety of wines. We purchased a book from there as a souvenir of our visit which listed in detail all the wines they produce. Afterwards we headed into the town of Embonas for lunch at an authentic local restaurant, where the aroma of meat sizzling on the grill filled the air. The meal was both delicious and surprisingly affordable. We briefly went to a souvenir shop across the street before our drive back to the hotel. This experience was the hi light of our holiday in Rhodes, thanks again to Aga for making the day so special. We purchased wine from both vineyards, and we are relieved that it all made it home safely; ready to be enjoyed at Christmas this year!

Amazing tour of Rhodes!! - Can’t recommend this tour highly enough!! Did not know much about Rhodes but figured out we would check out a wine tour. Aga far exceeded our expectations and gave us an amazing tour of the east and west coasts as well as the history and anecdotes of Rhodes! The winery was very nice and gave us samples of locals wines, cheeses, olives, and olive oil. Prices when we bought some wine and items to take home were more than reasonable.

A beautiful island once e you leave the tourist areas. - Our tour of Rhodes was really very good. It took us out of the very touristy area near the cruise ship thank goodness . Our guide was born and raised on Rhodes and his knowledge of both current events and historical events on Rhodes was very good. The winery stop was good ()although we didn’t love the wines) and the hosts were so friendly, informative and passionate about their work. Rhodes is a beautiful island once you get past all the high demand tourist places. The countryside in the hills is gorgeous

Excellent experience highly recommend - Nico was an absolutely amazing tour guide, he took us to the best wine shops and factories, was very knowledgeable about wines and was very honest about the best places to buy other things like olive oil, honey and pottery. I couldn’t recommend him more highly. He was courteous and thoughtful re water and shade in the heat.

Wine tasting in Embonas, Rhodes - An absolute treat! Picked up on time from our hotel by Dominic our driver/guide and off to see the sights we wanted to see followed by a very comprehensive wine tasting at Emery and Kounaki wineries. Lunch in Embonas was wonderful followed by a tasting in one of the local wine shops just to ensure we covered all bases. Dominic was very professional and knowledgeable and made the day special. Much appreciated! David
