Saturday, August 2nd, midday visit. - My wife and I arrived to the Latvian Academy of Sciences building around 12:30pm. We went inside and paid the lady at the front desk 8 Euros cash per person. I believe it is cash only. Then you head up the elevator to where you may have to weave around a bit, until you reach the observation deck. It was not super busy during our visit. It was a beautiful day, and it was not too windy. Plenty of room to move around, and you can take as much time as you want. There is a restroom available there too. There are also some decent info boards to read. And yes the views are wonderful, and you can get great photos. When you are done, just head back down the elevator. It was a fun visit, well worth the time, effort, and money.

Great way to get a view over Riga and the river - A panoramic view of the Riga skyline from a beautiful building.
Situated just near to the Riga central market it’s a bit quieter than the viewing point at St Peter’s Church.
A spacious roof with informative signs about prominent buildings, toilets at the top, and a lift to get up there.

A Great Viewpoint for the City of Riga - Very good observation deck of the entire Riga city and area. Go only on nice days and you can see to the horizon. Afternoon is best for pictures of the old city from the observation deck. There are two flights of stairs from where the elevator drops you off so be ready to do some climbing from the 15th to the 17th floor.

Great experience - The view was amazing, best birds eye view in Riga by far. Worth the price, would 100% recommend to many others visiting Riga or even the locals.

Well worth the visit! - A great 360degree view over the city of Riga with fine views all around.
The entrance fee is a reasonable €8 with an elevator the 15th floor, and then a further 6 flights of stairs. There is a card machine where you purchase tickets from.
There are toilets at the top of the building and poster information of what can be seen.
Definitely worth a visit when visiting Riga, and very close to the market so easy to find.

Fabulous views of Riga - Located in current Technology studies building, 5 minutes from the central markets and 20 minutes from station, which is one of the last Stalin era built buildings remaining in Riga. €8 entry fee at time of visit to access viewing platform, I went in the morning off season midweek and was the only iron there!. Elevator to 15th floor but then 6-7 steep flights of stairs to viewing platform, where toilets are available. Worth the entry fee for the views over Riga on a clear day,
