• Orange Torpedo Trips - The adventure begins at either 8:30 am or 12:30 pm MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME at our downtown Riggins shop. After gathering at the shop, a short five-minute drive takes the group to the put-in location. Here, everyone receives their trip equipment, including PFDs, splash tops, and helmets as needed. Once everyone is equipped, a comprehensive paddling orientation is provided to ensure all participants are well-prepared for their river adventure. With sunscreen applied, it’s time to embark on the float.

The half-day journey starts with gentle whitewater, allowing everyone to acclimate before tackling the larger rapids at Time Zone Bridge. This is where the excitement of big whitewater and thrilling experiences begins. Another significant rapid follows, offering a chance to relax, float, and swim. Further downriver, the group pauses for a quick snack, some rock skipping, and possibly a bit of swimming before returning to the boats to face the more challenging rapids ahead.

After navigating several adrenaline-inducing rapids, the group reaches the final calm waters above the takeout. This is an excellent opportunity to float in the river with your PFD, splash around with the kids, and reflect on the amazing experience of floating on the mighty Salmon River.

As the group arrives at the takeout, the guides swiftly pack up all the gear, and everyone boards the van for a brief 10-minute ride back to their waiting vehicles, marking the end of the trip.
