The first destination will be Har ki Pauri. Considered one of the most sacred Ghats in the nation, Har Ki Pauri is believed to be the initial spot where the Ganga touches the plains, leaving the untouched Himalayan ranges behind. The ghat is also referred to as the Brahma Kund, where visitors can see the stone with Lord Vishnu’s footprint, as suggested by the name.
The operator will also explore two bridges in Rishikesh. The first is Lakshman Jhula, a well-known suspension bridge over the holy river Ganga. This 450 ft long bridge is constructed at a height of 70 ft above the river and is about 3 km from the main town of Rishikesh. The other bridge is Ram Jhula, an iron suspension bridge over the river Ganga in Rishikesh. Ram Jhula is the newer bridge named after Lakshman’s brother, Lord Ram.
- Rishikesh - Lunch can be enjoyed at a local restaurant (at personal expense) before visiting Sivananda Ashram, Parmath Niketan Temple, Gita Bhavan, Swarg Ashram, Ma Anandamayee Ashram, Sapt Rishi Ashram, and The Beatles Ashram.
In the evening, during sunset, the operator will attend the Ganga Aarti at Haridwar. Thousands of devotees visit the ghats of the Ganga at Har ki Pauri in Haridwar to witness the aarti that began several decades ago. The tradition continues uninterrupted and is a spectacular sight. It occurs on the opposite side of the banks where priests light the lamps in a clockwise direction, accompanied by hymns in praise of Mother Ganga. After the ritual concludes, devotees cup their hands over the flame and raise their palms to their forehead to receive the Goddess’s purification and blessing.
Finally, return to New Delhi and be dropped off at the hotel around 9 pm.
