Amazing Tour, Amazing Guy - Where to start. Tore, the owner is amazing both as a person and a guide. We did a private tour with him as a couple. He showed up at our hotel even before the scheduled pick up time and patiently waited for us. He drove us to Preikostolen with his comfortable large van. As a native of the town, his guidance began the moment we stepped into his van. In our party, one of us had high anxiety and the other had bad knees. He patiently accosted and guarded both of us through thisin this eight hour, relatively challenging hike; we had a lot of anecdotes and good laughs to share. In the end, he even took us to a nearby village for a chocolate store because I said I liked dark chocolate. In summary, Tore is amazing. His tour is amazing and I would recommend him without any reservations. Look no further, if you want to do any tour in the area and take advantage of a local person with great personality and work ethic. Tusen takk!!

Spectacular views, but challenging for the less than fit - This is a moderate to strenuous hike—don’t underestimate it. 3 steep ascents, 2 of which are stone stairs. That said, someone under 60 in reasonable shape can do it in about 1.5 hours going up. (If you’re super fit, an hour and 10 minutes is good). The reward, depending on weather, is a spectacular view. The guide, Tore, is very experienced and did a good job shepherding the group.

Majestic Hike to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) – Absolutely Worth It! - Majestic Hike to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) – Absolutely Worth It! We had an incredible time on the “Majestic Hike Experience to Preikestolen (also known as Pulpit Rock)” with our guide, Lysekammen. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the local area, sharing fascinating details throughout the hike—including how the stone steps were built by Sherpas! The hike itself is moderately challenging—about 5 miles round-trip with over 1,000 feet of elevation gain, mostly on rugged, man-made stone stairs. We’re in good shape and it took us around 3 hours, including short breaks and photo stops. The weather was classic Norway: 50°F, windy, with light rain on and off. With a waterproof jacket we stayed comfortable, but I highly recommend proper hiking shoes with good tread, as the rocks can get very slippery. The drive to the trailhead is about an hour each way in a clean, comfortable van that fits around 10 people. A cool bonus was passing through the world’s longest undersea tunnel, completed in 2019—something you don’t see every day! If you’re coming from a cruise, plan for at least a 6-hour window to be safe—more if you prefer a slower pace. Timing is tight if your ship is only in port for a few hours. Overall, this was a memorable experience with beautiful views, great company, and a very well-run tour. Highly recommended—as long as you’re in decent hiking shape and ready for a bit of adventure!

Guided hike to Preikestolen - This was an incredible experience for us on our first trip to Norway from the UK, hiking to Preikestolen. Our tour guide Tore at Lysekammen was very punctual and accommodating, collecting us from our hotel and guiding us along the trail at a manageable pace. The tour was interspersed with snippets of facts and information. We had the opportunity to capture photos at the top of the incredible views over the fjord. Would highly recommend this, unforgettable experience!

Preikestolen Hike - Tour operator was on time, very nice van. But be warned: this is a HIKE. You will be climbing steep rock with uneven surfaces and wading through running water in several places. It is a very strenuous hike and you will see people along the way who sustained injuries (we saw two, one with a broken wrist). Also, if it’s cloudy there is a good chance that after hiking 90 minutes to reach the lookout you won’t see a thing (everyone today). Even though it is June, the temp was 13C so dress warm, wear rain gear, and good hiking shoes. Cannot stress this enough!
