In 2010, an Israeli helicopter tragically crashed here due to a piloting error in severe weather, resulting in the loss of seven lives. The route includes a visit to the memorial built in their honor, located at the mountain’s base near the village of Simon, as well as the site where the aircraft wreckage was discovered, high in the mountains at approximately 1800 meters altitude.
- Devil’s Mill Waterfall - Devil’s Mill Waterfall is situated at an altitude of 1575 meters. The water cascades from a height of about 20 meters, entering the lower basin of the Gaura Valley, before disappearing into an underground course, leaving the valley dry and strewn with boulders.

Our tips:
This is a 15 km hike of medium difficulty, with an elevation gain of approximately 1400 meters. It is recommended for hikers who have some experience with mountain terrains. The total hike lasts 5-7 hours on wide paths without exposure to dangerous cliffs.
