Art, gardens, history and a great way to spend a few hours in Rome! - Seeing this collection through the eyes of such a knowledgeable art history guide was spectacular! Get ready to learn, laugh and be blown away by this amazing and beautiful villa filled with a diverse and interesting mix of paintings, sculptures, mosaics and more. Easy to navigate- just one set of steps. Nice cafe there as well if you wanted to roam the gardens, use a restroom and get a bite without touring the villa. Always great to see how the “other half” lived. Our fabulous guide, Irene, really made the tour. Her passion was palpable and her knowledge off the charts!

Fabulous venue and awesome guide! - The Villa Borghese is full of treasures, we don’t know how we have missed going on previous trips. Our guide Alessandra, was warm and friendly, tremendously knowledgeable, and made the tour into a highlight of our trip to Rome. She recounted the history of the building and the family, and main collector who financed and put it all together. We were given an overview of the development of the skill of the main sculptor, Bernini, the techniques used, and the fine details which we would have overlooked. The mosaics which were so fine they resembled paintings, would’ve also been overlooked with out her guiding us to them. We saw all of the main pieces, many of the minor ones, and had time to marvel at those which caught our eye without feeling rushed. We cannot recommend this tour enough!

A Real Surprise, a hidden treasure. - Our host suggested this as a must see given that it was only 10 minutes walk away. A fantastic museum/gallery which is nowhere near as crazy or overwhelming as the Vatican. Great tour guide made it a real learning experience.

An unforgettable experience - Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Rome. Alessandra is wonderful, she conducts the walk-around with the perfect blend of information and humour. I had come to see the famed Berninis, but the story she wove around all the exhibits, the Borghese family and the history of Rome itself made the experience much more meaningful than simply looking at art.
