Colosseum tour the Good the Bad and the Ugly - Colosseum tour the Good the Bad and the Ugly The Good. Mario the tour guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and tried. A Good or Bad was that the tour was to start at 9:15 and they waited for people until 9:45 The Bad was that they used what seemed to be a iPhone 8 or so as a translation device. He spoke on his phone in Italian and 10 seconds later it was in English or whatever ever your device was set at. This caused a less than free imparting of what we were seeing a 2 or 3 sentence, the translation a pause and then new information. Not ideal but not terrible. The terrible comes in the ugly. Be warned and not an issue with the tour company there is lot of walking and a lot of steps. The UGLY THE DEVICES They were constantly malfunctioning and Mario had to stop and fix and some could not be fixed. This caused a serious delay and the tour was not completed until 1 pm. The malfunction of the devices caused some participants to leave. We did want to proceed up Palentine hill and the guide was unaware that we were no longer with them The venue was great. The guide was good. The method of it being a guided tour was minus 3 on a 10 point scale A partial refund would be nice.

Colosseum trip - Colosseum is spectacular and a must see - but this trip was shambolic at best for the first hour - no organisation , we wasted 40 mins on top of incorrect start time, we booked 9:30 tour , entered more like 11:00 , clearly different start times were grouped together, there was issue with under 18 in group ticket and none of the party had the expected QR code the guide said we should have been sent. Disorganised ! We have fortunately done this trip before which was infinitely better!it does not include the forum and palatine hills - one or other it would seem. Choose your provider very carefully - in this instance we did not get what we were expecting - time or content.

changed time and meeting location without notification - Tripadvisor moved the meeting location and the time of the tour without letting us know. When no one showed up at the time and location we were told we called and found out about the change, very disappointed.

I didn't know the Coliseum. Thank you Veditalia. - The Veditalia was the big responsible for not knowing the Colosseum, one of the main reasons for my trip to Rome. I hired a guided tour just to avoid the harassment of informal tour guides or tour vendors and, ironically, it was exactly what I experienced because of the total lack of structure and responsibility of the company. First, they changed the tour schedule twice. I accepted, understanding that unforeseen things can happen. In the second amendment, they informed that the guide had become ill and that part of the amount would be refunded because I would only follow with the tickets. I found it strange for a company of this size not even to have a replacement guide, but I still accepted. The combined time in the message was 15:00, but in the email and app it was 15:30. To make sure, I arrived at the meeting point at 2:30. And then the nightmare began: no representative of Veditalia in sight, just dozens of guides insistently offering services exactly what I wanted to avoid. According to the company's own guidance, I should look for a person with a sign. Really? Amidst hundreds of tourists and guides, the company expects the customer to "bite" someone with a sign? I was lost, confused, and still being approached insistently. And by irony of fate, I had to resort to other guides about Veditalia and got laughs and comments like "they always abandon the customers." I tried contact by all means: messages, calls no return. I was completely ignored. I was only returned some time later informing that I had lost my schedule. To interrupt my holidays by texting changing hours, they were agile. But to offer me support, or to question my presence at the chaotic meeting point when I needed it most? Total silence. There was a lack of professionalism, commitment and, above all, respect for the customer.
