Highly Recommend - Well worth the time and money! Our guide, Max, was attentive and knowledgeable. Be sure to get to the meeting point early, and there are coffee & breakfast items available for purchase. Max ensured we had front row seats and it is an experience I will never forget!!

Unbelievable Papal Audience Experience - OMG what often fantastic and unexpected experience at the Papal audience!! Our guide Francesco was absolutely phenomenal!!! He not only told us so much about the Vatican and where we were going- he also pointed out what seats would be best for us to see the pope drive-by in the popemobile and told us that if we had our 11 month old grandson at the barrier where the pope mobile went by that he would be blessed by the pope - and he was!!!! What an unbelievable experience that was!

Great - A very early start but worth it for the Knowledge and best seats. Max our guide was brill and knew when to hold and when to go. Leave plenty of time as the Pope doesn't come out till about 10am. The 3 hour time isn't the full alloted time needed.

Once in a Lifetime Event - It’s a weekly meeting the pope holds with “pilgrims.” We booked it through Viator, where I saw it listed. There were passages in Italian, French, English, Spanish, German, Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, and Polish. The pope spoke in Italian, English, and Spanish. The interpreters that presented in the other languages translated his responses. Groups that made pilgrimages there were acknowledged. There was one school from the US and a delegation from the UK. There was a violin troupe of youngsters from Brazil, and several other Portuguese speaking groups. It was like being at a soccer match with multiple teams, with flags of countries being waved and anthems sung, and groups enthusiastically responding when their presence was acknowledged by the pope.

guided tour and Papal Audience NOT a skip the line - It was a great experience, some little nuances would have been nice to know pertaining to seating in the Auditorium, but it worked out okay. It was wonderful to be in the presence of the Pope. The history lesson on the walk over was excellent, and the guide excellent

Ok - It was helpful to have a guide show us where to queue, and I appreciate that by its very nature, the event is low cost, low key. However, it would have been useful to have more information about was involved. (timings etc - we had to leave early as we had to check out). The company also tried to upsell me an experience with a closer meeting point. It is a very interesting event and I am pleased that I went.

Decent - We arrived early, and everything was easy checking in and finding our guide was smooth. The guide (a Spanish lady) had great knowledge and gave a lot of interesting history about the Vatican. However, she did rush us at times and walked very fast, and we occasionally lost track of her. That said, I later realized she was trying to secure us good seats, so I understood and didn’t mind as much. The one issue I did have was her trying to sell a rosary during the tour it felt like a really inappropriate time to be selling items. Overall, I’d give the experience 3 stars.

Not worth it for the Papal Audience - We had already secured our own Papal Audience tickets by emailing the Rome office directly, which was very easy. We decided to do the tour anyway, thinking the guide would know where to position the group to get a better glimpse of the Pope. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. There were about 29 people in the group, and despite the early call time, a long line had already formed. Once inside, we were seated in the middle section, where the Pope looks very small and usually only passes along the front and side aisles. If you’re hoping for a closer view, clearer photos or videos, or any chance of interaction, this setup doesn’t help. At one point, I stepped away to use the restroom and noticed side seating that offered much better visibility. Since it was just the two of us, we moved there, returned our headsets to the female guide, and were told we were on our own. Looking back, leaving the group was the best decision we made. From the sidelines, I was able to take a clear video of the Pope, and my husband was able to personally hand him the baseball cap he had been hoping to give him. Given how simple it is to secure Papal Audience tickets on your own, this tour felt unnecessary and not worth the extra cost. Recommendation: skip the tour and do it independently for a better, more flexible experience.
