A Fantastic Experience on the Aventine Hill - This tour is a wonderful way to explore the medieval side of Rome. Walking through the basilicas and the beautiful gardens of the Aventine Hill was both peaceful and fascinating.
The real highlight, however, was the professionalism and friendliness of the guides. They were incredibly knowledgeable, sharing stories about monks and knights with a lighthearted and engaging touch. Their warm personality made the entire walk feel very natural and enjoyable.
Ending the tour with a "gelato" overlooking the Circus Maximus was the perfect conclusion to a high-quality experience. Highly recommended if you want a professional yet friendly guided walk through Rome.

A Must-Do Roman Experience! - We had an incredible time on the Monks and Knights tour. The Aventine Hill is breathtaking, and the 'secret view' of Rome is a moment we will never forget.

A historic, romantic 'insider' tour- be Roman for a day! - An Unforgettable Roman Escape
Wow, what a fantastic experience we had with these guys! Exploring the Aventine Hill was magical. My favorite was the medieval basilicas and the famous 'secret view.' Our guide was incredibly professional and friendly, really making the history come alive with captivating legends and stories. Isn't that what you want from a tour guide. And they were fun to be with. We got a very 'insider' vibe being with them, like we were able to just be Roman for a day! Sharing a gelato overlooking the Circus Maximus was the perfect romantic ending. I have already recommended this tour to many friends and think it's a great, romantic experience for any couple!

Perfect for families - We explored the Aventine hill with our two adult children, and that was the highlight of our stay! The tour offers a perfect balance between fascinating history and breathtaking scenery. Our guide was exceptionally professional and friendly, captivating the whole family with exciting legends of monks and knights. Discovering the breathtaking view of Rome together was a magical moment, and finishing the walk with an ice overlooking the Circus Maximus was a delicate attention. The Perfect Morning Walk, Charming History and Great Guides - We took the Monks and Knights tour as a morning activity and it was a fantastic way to start the day in Rome! The climb up the Aventine Hill was surprisingly simple, especially the ascent from the ramparts—it felt like a beautiful, invigorating start to the walk. Exploring the medieval Christian monasteries and the mysterious Knights sanctuary was fascinating. Our guide was truly excellent: funny, and deeply knowledgeable, sharing Monks and Knights legends that kept us entertained the whole time. The payoff was the magnificent garden with its gorgeous view over the city of Rome. We finished the tour feeling refreshed and energized, enjoying a delicious "gelato" with our guides while overlooking the vast Circus Maximus. I highly recommend this tour for a charming and enjoyable morning experience!

Totally worth it! It was more than just monasteries, teen friendly - The Monks and Knights tour was a fantastic break from the bigger, more crowded sites. Our teenagers actually enjoyed this! The guides were really good at pointing out the cool, little details—like the secret keyhole view—that kept them interested and snapping photos. Exploring the Knights sanctuary and hearing the medieval legends was much more exciting than reading a textbook. The view from the magnificent garden over the city is incredible, and the walk was easy enough for everyone. The best part? The well-deserved stop for a delicious gelato while looking down at the massive Circus Maximus. If you have teens, book this tour—it's educational without feeling boring.

A Tranquil Escape from the Crowds of Rome - If you're looking for an authentic and less-traveled experience in Rome, the Monks and Knights tour on the Aventine Hill is a brilliant choice. It was such a relief to step away from the throngs of tourists and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this historic neighborhood. We thoroughly appreciated the focus on the medieval Christian monasteries and ancient basilicas—it provided a wonderful, deep-dive into the history often overlooked by standard tours. The highlight for us was the beautiful walk leading up to the magnificent garden, which offers truly gorgeous, sprawling views over the city. Our guides made the legends of the Knights and Monks fascinating and easy to follow. We finished the afternoon perfectly with a delicious gelato, sitting comfortably and looking down at the immense historical landmark that is the Circus Maximus. A truly unique and worthwhile tour!

Great tour - This was, by far, the best tour we had in Rome because they took the care to go as detailed as we asked about the history and sights. The other tours we had left us feeling a bit overwhelmed by the brush-past of so much, but this tour took its time and really connected the dots for us. More than Monks and Knights, I now feel I have a handle on Rome’s evolution from the beginning and how all the parts of the city related to each other. I encourage everyone to come experience the “other hill” with these excellent tour-hosts. Sitting down with them at the end for a Gelato and conversation will be one of my cherished memories of our trip.
