Day Trip from Rome - Request Alberto! - Our tour guide Alberto was outstanding! He demonstrated personal connection, group facilitation, time management, setting guests expectations, keeping the group moving along, tidbits of humor without wasting time, historical anecdotes, absurd (and funny) superlatives about Romans -- it was all there. Our guide Alberto was everything you want a guide to be. The tour was interesting and well-paced with some breaks along the way. At the very end Alberto recommended a fantastic restaurant which we also highly recommend called L'Alimentari - it is only a short walk away and an easy distance back to the train stop to head back to Rome.

Wanting more - Alberto helped us navigate the property on a day swarming with school children. He guided us from the train station in Rome all the way through this archaeological site with ease. Thank you. We bought a book on Ostia because we wanted to know more.

Excellent tour of a lesser known site - A good long, interesting tour of Ostia Antica, led by the fantastic Laura. She was very knowledgeable and good fun, and showed us everything from tomb sites to the thermal baths. We had the option to return to Rome with her or remain in Ostia a while longer, which is a lovely change from the usual being whisked in and out on a tour. Bring comfy shoes, though, and watch your step on the stairs and Roman roads!

Well worth a visit - Alberto gives a good tour balancing the interests of casual and more serious visitors. This area is amazing and deserves for visitors and interest. The city once had 55000 inhabitants. You learn about how real people lived, not just gladiators and gods like in Rome attractions
