Amalfi coast - I can not say enough good things about Liv Tours, they are the best! Our tour guide to the Amalfi coast was so sweet and knowledgeable!! The driver was the absolute best as the winding mountains roads along the Amalfi coast is breathtaking and freighting at the same time. Our stop in Pompeii was mind blowing!!! A city that once was covered in volcanic ash which preserved it through time…… so much history! Positano and all of the Amalfi coast is a dream come true!!!

Fantastic tour with amazing guides - We took this tour for my husband’s birthday so we could see more of Italy. It was 100% amazing. Monica and Mateo were our guides and driver. They were so friendly and gave so much information. The private tour with Romolo at Pompeii was absolutely amazing. He was so knowledgeable and you could tell how much he loved giving the tours and how excited he was about the history. The roads around Amalfi were treacherous and Mateo was the best driver. We had a fantastic time and if you can get this team as your guides, you will have the best

Wonderful tour with... - Wonderful tour with Juliana. We were picked up promptly early in the morning for our drive to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. A wonderful tour at Pompeii was arranged followed by a drive to Positano for lunch and shopping. We were a party of 7 and Juliana had a table reserved for us prior to arriving at the restaurant. After lunch, we finished our tour of the Amalfi Coast. It was a long day, but well worth it.

Beautiful, customizable trip along the coast with great guides - This was a great full-day tour from our hotel in Rome to Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. Our driver (Massimo) & guide (Teresa) were very attentive to our needs and actively asked for input about what we would like to prioritize. Notably, you get a couple hours to do your own thing at Positano, during which you can eat, shop, go to the beach, or just explore. We did a mix of those - we mostly found the day to be relaxing & took in the gorgeous views. The first stop was Pompeii, where my wife and I had visited over 20 years ago. A lot has changed since then. We were impressed at how much we got out of the visit and enjoyed all the new excavations. Our guide at Pompeii, Francesco, was amazing. He was knowledgeable and engaging. He told us the history of the city before Roman times, during, the eruption, the eventual discovery, excavation, and also the history of local people living there today. The way he told these stories was particularly engaging for our teenaged sons. Pointing out the architecture and the features of the city (reflective stones for commerce at night, the chariot-wheel impressions in the stones of the road today, and so on) really took us back in time. The paintings were also fascinating - seeing these 2000 year old artworks of Roman-era Pompeii was really something. Notably, Francesco did not miss a beat even when we had pop-up thunderstorm that brought pouring rain. We really only paused for about ten minutes before he was able to mentally work out quick paths between covered and interesting areas to explore and discuss, including the thermal baths and some larger family homes. After our tour at Pompeii, we continued on our scenic drive to Positano. Teresa suggested a delicious spot right on the beach for lunch. Be warned that pretty much every place with a view here is going to charge a cover charge just to sit & eat. Obviously there’s nothing the tour operators can do about that - it comes with the territory in this locale. Teresa did arrange for our reservations quickly once we decided we wanted to sit and eat rather than get food to-go, and so we had almost no wait for our table even on a busy day. The beach is a black volcanic-sand/rock beach, and the water is gorgeous… but the beach is quite small by most standards. We still found it worth exploring. If you want to go swimming, you’ll need to bring towels and whatever else you require — ultimately, we decided that the overhead of changing and so on was not worth our limited time in Positano. The rest of the trip for us was a drive back up along the windy Amalfi coast through its beautiful towns. Teresa had interesting and informative history to share about all of the towns along the Amalfi coast. Whenever we wondered about what something-or-other was, she provided answers and insight. She also was really pleasant to have along on our tour. Our driver, Massimo, was skilled at getting through the narrow streets and ways along the coast. We were able to leave excess gear in the van while we would go explore, which was great for traveling lighter inside the Pompeii site, for example. This is a long day trip from Rome, but if you are wanting to explore more of Italy from your home base there, it is worth it, especially if you appreciate the frozen-in-time historical experience of Pompeii.

Pompeii & Amalfi full day tour - service door-to-door! - The service door-to-door was impeccable. Our guide Sam was very informed and shared his wealth of knowledge at a great pace. Our driver Pino astounded us repeatedly knowing the dimensions of our vehicle to the millimeter and navigating people in roadways, narrow roads, and hairpin turns. The tour stopped at appropriate times for food and rest areas to break up a 15 hour day. Trust the recommendations on restaurants and tastings as each time we did, they proved wonderful! Pompeii was unlike anything you could imagine. Our Pompeii guide Fabiano guided our eyes and our minds. It was fascinating! We had terrible rain on our tour at one point, three of us needed to buy tops to get warm, so our guides took us on an unplanned stop for t-shirts/sweatshirts in a nearby store. In Amalfi, the free time to shop after lunch was also appreciated. My 18 year old son felt unwell/carsick in Amalfi, so Pino stopped and gave my son a lemon to smell as it's an old trick to ease nausea, and Sam gave up his front seat so my son could "see" the road. Sam and Pino were gracious beyond measure the whole day! If you love history and beauty combined, this is the tour for you!

Best tour of the Amalfi coast and Pompeii - This is one of the best tours we've ever done! We didn't expect to have our own driver, Giovani, and the best tour guide, Sam. Giovani and Sam were very flexible and knew the best ways around Positano. We had a great lunch on the beach and able to spend time on the Amalfi coast as well as shop. HIGHLY recommend this tour! We also had a lot of time to tour Pompeii. Our guide Romolo was also very knowledgeable.

Arefi (so sorry on the spelling) suggested a great place for lunch right on the beach, which provided a beautiful view. Loved the free time to roam and shop!
