Aussie from Darwin Unguided tour to pomoeii - Our travel guide Monica was amazing , We did the unguided tour to Pompeii . She gave clear instructions on meeting points and times for three different tour groups with ease nothing was a problem and she gave everyone personal attention even assisting us with additional travel after the tour

Best Pompeii tour! - Vincenzo was an amazing host! Very knowledgeable, PHD, blending facts with humour at the best moments. Everything went so smoothly and I highly recommend this method of exploring Pompeii. The wine tasting and lunch at the end was perfect! Hilarious that we all started talking loudly and engaging each other in conversation once we started consuming all of the wine 😅

A Fantastic Day Trip - We had an excellent tour guide that helped us arrive at Pompeii seamlessly. Then we enjoyed walking around Pompeii on our own for five hours before meeting up with our group to return to Rome. We were glad we brought an umbrella to help give some shade to a hot yet breezy day. There are so many discoveries to be made in Pompeii. The walk can be challenging as the old roads are not necessarily smooth and you get distracted looking around at all of the sights. I'm sure I could find new things each time I would visit. Amazing!

Amazing Self-Paced Exploration - Everything went smoothly, and the guide ensured that everyone was kept together. The weather was extremely hot, but there was plenty of time built-in to get refreshments throughout the day. We chose this trip so that we could explore Pompeii at our own pace and to take breaks as we needed. It would have been helpful to get a map of the site, and make sure to note which entrance of the site you take, as that is where you will exit. (there are 3 entrances/exits). Thankfully Google Maps was available to help us.

Quick and Easy day trip to Pompeii - This was a quick and easy way to visit Pompeii for the day. We were not interested in a guided tour but not comfortable finding our own way to Pompeii. The guide was very helpful getting us on our train to Naples (1hr10min) and short bus ride (35min). We had plenty of time in Pompeii. This was an easy day trip without riding in a car or bus for 6-7 hrs round trip. Highly recommend.

Pompeii bucket list checked - The trip was mostly well organized despite a delay in the departing train from Rome. Meeting instructions in Rome were clear. The transition from the train station in Naples to the bus to Pompeii was seamless. One quibble is that we paid for a non-guided tour. Could have done a self-guided audio tour but didn't get an explanation from the guide on how to get it from the visitor center. It's a minor point, though. Another point for the budget conscious. You could probably get yourself to Pompeii independently by train/bus from Rome/Naples for less money. The "value-added" from Italia Tours is they arranged all the travel and tickets into the ruins making it simple and easier. However, you pay a higher price per person for that convenience. Again, we chose an unguided tour but there are guided group tour options as well but for more money. Pompeii itself was very interesting. It was busy but not overly crowded. Might be because it was very hot (38C or 100F). Definitely bring you own water/water bottle in; you will need it! You should also bring snacks. One final point. You're on site for about 5 hours. You should make a plan to visit the ruins for about 3-4 hours and then build in sometime to have something to eat afterwards. There are a number of restaurants nearby that have shaded patios (you'll want the shade). In that time, you may not be able to cover everything so make a plan on what's most important for you to see. Overall, it was well worth the trip and reasonable value for money in my opinion.

Great place to visit - Pompeji fantastic and getting there from Rome via high speed train was great. Not the guides fault the planned trained skipped the stop in Rome to save time. After a while they got us on the next train. The reason for the 4 instead of the 5 was not guide, nothing for the visit. Just drop off, in you go. We had no idea how to go through the city. Would have been good if this would have been clearer so we could have planned the visit better.
