Excited to know the name of a song!! - I took my mom to visit Rome in August 2023 and we're trying to get the songs played at the Spanish audioguide inside the Bus. Is it the treccia bionda?

Rome tour - Red line is better than the yellow with more audio information about the sites around the city. Makes it easy to get around Rome.

Very practical - We took it over 4 days. This allows you to see Rome while moving from one point to another. You can do it from the inside with audio guide or up to enjoy Rome otherwise. The price is a bit high but if you move a lot, it is worth it. Above all, you have to look at the schedules to avoid waiting. The only negative is that the last lap is quite early (6:30 p.m., it seems to me)

Limited stops on a Sunday! - Limited stops on a Sunday and rude tour operators, I don’t recommend. Recommend catching a taxi to the Spanish steps then you can walk to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon and visit all the great restaurants and shops.

Disappointment Carousel - The fellas down at the Colosseum really drew us in. Their flashy pamphlets and promises of great times really sounded ideal to my family and me. Upon purchasing our tickets, we hoofed it about 800 meters down the road, where we were told we had just missed not one but TWO of their running busses. Online, there is a tracking feature available, and it appeared as though there were only 4 busses running, a far cry from the 9 we were promised by the people manning the bus stop. Eventually about a half hour after arriving at the bus stop, we hopped onto a jam packed tram. Suddenly the problem was apparent; those same guys who could sell water to a speedboat also had lost track entirely of how many tickets they had sold. It was almost impossible to find a bus that had enough available seats for my family of 4 at any given bus stop. They would parse through the line, trying to find couples to finish filling up their busses. Even at 9:30 am, a mere 30 minutes after they started running shuttles for the day, we had to wait for TWO cycles of busses before finding one that wasn't full to the gills. Furthering this suboptimal situation, the riding experience was horrible. If you are an English speaker, you will be treated to carousel music for a majority of the ride, with little to no commentary being provided for a majority of the buildings we passed. One of the busses we managed to squeeze onto had a missing headphone jack in one port, and a broken audio jack in the one above it, ensuring neither me nor my husband got any commentary on the ride. A separate issue was the retractable roof being about 5' above the floor, resulting in needing to crouch a LOT or banging your head on the metal frame. Overall, I wouldn't recommend city sightseeing bus to anyone visiting Rome, it would be easier to walk around or use scooters and bikes. If the commentary is what you're after. Finding audio guides has never been easier, and it's vastly preferred to dealing with this poorly run, frustrating company. Go with one of the other bus companies and save yourself a ride on the disappointment carousel.

Don’t waste your money - The bus doesn’t get close enough to the main attractions for it to be even worth booking. You have to walk about 20 minutes from the Vatican to the closest stop.

I can’t access my tickets... - I can’t access my tickets on the app. It takes me to my email where I only have a reminder email of this activity.

I would go with a different company - There are 4 different companies that make the same stops as CitySightseeing (CS). There were four points where CS failed us. First, there is no clear instruction as to how to access the meeting points. I had to call different numbers to get an explanation as to where the Colosseum stop was. There is no specific address given. I had to call and rep told me which cross streets to go to (it’s not next to Colosseum). Wasted 45 minutes figuring this out. Second, the representative was not clear about the difference between red and yellow bus. The red bus does not make all the stops. They rushed us into the red one and when I told driver that I wanted to get off near Pantheon, they told us to get off at the next stop and wait for the yellow bus. This wasted 30 minutes. Third, we had a 1:30 pm reservation for the Colosseum, so after the Pantheon we left before 12:00 budgeting enough time to get the next bus and allow it to make its loop. Well - it took an hour for the next bus. A group of us watched the other companies buses come and go. And when we complained to the rep at the stop, he kept being rude saying it wasn’t his fault. Fourth, we are running late to the Colosseum because of the delayed buses. When we get to Roma Termini, the CS lady says, we are stopping here for 20 minutes for a break. Again, this was never communicated to me via email or even when boarding the bus in the morning. When I expressed frustration with the delay and showed her my reservation, she said you should catch the subway train or a taxi. Complete lack of communication and accountability. Please use another company.

Worst hop on hop off EVER - I've taken several hop on hop off rides over the years and this was the worst of all, by far. Where to begin .... 1. Few stops 2. Terrible/weak audio comments. It's hard not to have many interesting things to say about Roman monuments and sights but this tour was very laconic 3. Just 3 buses! We had to wait over 30 minutes 4. Buses spend more time in the stops than driving 5. Headset socket was not working Avoid at all costs

Awful, awful, awful. - This experience was awful! There were only four stops (2 of which were just labeled as Terminals), and bus stops were not clearly marked. You could not locate a clear schedule and the website was no help. We went to the address listed for pickups and no bus arrived. The experience was so bad, we didn't even try the next day. We wasted money. I've done the hop on Hop off experience many times (in this case, just the day before in Barcelona) and I've never had such a terrible experience!
