Constructed from travertine, tuff, and brick-faced concrete, it is the largest edifice ever built in ancient Rome. Located just east of the Roman Forum, its construction was initiated by Emperor Vespasian in 72 AD and completed in 80 AD by his successor, Titus.

After your visit to the Colosseum, upon exiting, turn right and proceed towards the triumphal Arch of Titus. On your right, you will find the entrance to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill areas.
- Palatine Hill - Palatine Hill is where it all began. This is where Romulus, the first king of Rome, laid the foundation of the city. Explore the ruins of the imperial palaces and stroll through the Farnese Gardens to reach the terrace viewpoint, offering a stunning view of the Roman Forum below.
