Papal audience - Must experience at least once in lifetime. Your guide was very knowledgeable and guided us into Vatican City. Wish she had hung out with us for a bit instead of pointing to an area as the best seating. In reality all seats are good as the Pope is driven around the whole square.

alright experience - outside of getting a ticket if the event is sold out, there isn't much help or additive benefit of being with the group given you can go through both security checkpoints on your own - it might even be quicker to not be slowed down waiting for the remaining members of your group. do see this being helpful for coordinating with larger groups and inexperienced travelers

Correct - The interest of this reservation lies in the guarantee of (free) tickets for the papal audience and in the simplicity of their recovery. The “selected language” is of little importance, and the comments relate only to the waiting period in line and placement in Saint Peter’s Square. The performance ends there.

This Spanish guide was... - This Spanish guide was too slow. She took forever to take us to do the line. When we arrive we where almost at the end in the auditorium although we arrived at 6:45 am.

Not my kind of tour - I was greatly disappointed with guide Mara we had during our Papal Audience tour this past Wednesday. I cannot help but compare Mara when I did a Papal Audience about 15 years ago and we had a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable young tour guide, who led our group promptly to get seated and good view of the Pope. And while we were seated and waiting, our guide shared so much great information about the Basilica, the popes, and Rome and she stayed with the group until service started, almost the whole 3 hours using our headsets. When I went to join Wednesday Brastours's tour, I have high expectations , I wanted my husband to get a good experience since it was his first trip to Rome. I was disappointed after 10 minutes of meeting Mara. She was so unfocused , my husband is convinced she is a newbie .Our group was just idly standing and we did not move from the meeting place until after 15-20 mins when all the other organized tours have moved in line for the security screening and getting seats. Mara spoke maybe all of 20 relevant sentences about Rome / Basilica history. But Mara gladly pointed us to the WC facilities and waited for the group to be back. Mara made sure everyone was done with security and we were herded to the seats ( pointed to row seats that might be good for us to see the Pope on his popemobile.) and during that time too, she collected the headsets. I was thinking I could easily have come with my husband and get better seats with less time waiting in line. I was able to reserve and picked up 2 tickets for the event myself. I decided to join the tour after I reserved the tickets online , I thought my husband might learn more from an expert, which turned out to untrue.

Could have been better if our guide had not lost us - Our guide brought us to the security line and whereupon other tour groups merged in which separated all of our group. The guide got further ahead and lost control of managing the group. Once we got through security, we could not find our guide as she did not appear to have waited for all the group to catch up and rejoin. Because we had no assistance from the guide once past security, we were not able to get into our seating section in time before the gates were closed to the people audience chairs. We were never able to return our audio receivers. Organization from the very moment that we met was haphazard, and that there were far too many people all trying to have their names located on the rosters. It could have been better organized, which would have assisted in getting our tour group out of the initial waiting area in a more prompt manner.
