Travelers will be taken by van to two viewpoints offering stunning views.
Following this, there will be a walking tour covering all the points listed below.
The tour includes visits to the most significant sites and also explores areas not frequented by all tourists.
The aim is for travelers to feel like locals, or “rondeños,” for a few hours.
-
Mirador del Puente Nuevo - After being picked up from accommodations, the journey to Ronda begins along a scenic route.
The first stop is a viewpoint offering a unique view of Ronda.
The New Bridge is particularly impressive from this vantage point.
After capturing photos, there will be a coffee break at a special location. -
Paseo de Blas Infante - Statues of Orson Welles and Ernest Hemingway are located in these gardens, at the start of the Paseo de los Toreros, which honors Ronda’s two most famous bullfighting dynasties: Los Romero and Los Ordoñez.
From the viewpoint at the bottom of these gardens, visitors can appreciate Ronda’s strategic location and understand why the old city has a 2,500-year history.
-
Plaza de Toros de Ronda - This is Spain’s oldest bullring.
Inaugurated in 1785, it belongs to the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda, a knightly brotherhood established in 1572 by King Felipe II.
The tour includes the ring, the bull area, and the bullfighting museum.
This visit provides insight into five centuries of Ronda’s history, pivotal in the development of modern bullfighting.
Visitors will also learn about the progression of a bullfight and the current state of the “national holiday.” -
Alameda Del Tajo - The guided tour of Ronda begins with a visit to its most important park, the Alameda del Tajo.
The central promenade features statues of Pedro Romero and the Lady Goyesca, key figures in Ronda’s bullfighting tradition.
From the Mirador de los Reyes Católicos, visitors can admire the beauty of the Sierra de Grazalema and the Serranía de Ronda. -
Arco de Felipe V - After the Old Bridge was built, this became the main entrance to Ronda and the connection to the Iglesia de Padre Jesús.
Crossing this arch offers one of the day’s most intriguing photo opportunities.
-
St. Sebastian Minaret - This tower was originally a mosque minaret and later became a church bell tower.
Today, only the tower remains, bearing a name that reflects its Islamic and later Catholic heritage. -
Plaza Duquesa de Parcent - Historically, this has been Ronda’s most important square.
It houses four Catholic Churches (Santa María de la Encarnación, La Caridad, Santa Isabel de los Ángeles, and María Auxiliadora).
The Town Hall is also located here.
The gardens, over a century old, were designed by Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier, a renowned French landscaper who also designed the Gardens of the Maria Luisa Park in Seville. -
Puente Viejo - Crossing this 16th-century bridge leads to “The City,” the name for the old part of Ronda.
From this bridge, visitors can see the Arab Baths, the Tanneries Bridge, and the Cijára Wall. The guide will explain the area’s significance during Muslim times.
-
Jardines de Cuenca - On the way to the old town, the tour descends through the Cuenca Gardens, named because of the resemblance between this part of Ronda and the Hanging Houses of Cuenca.
Walking through these gardens offers unique views of the New and Old Bridges.
Upon reaching the Casa del Rey Moro, the guide will share the story of La Mina, a staircase from Arab times that descends from the house’s gardens to the bottom of the Guadalevín River gorge. -
Mirador de Aldehuela - The views here are breathtaking.
Visitors can see the Old Bridge (16th century), the Cuenca Gardens, Ronda’s hanging houses, and the Casa del Rey Moro.
This viewpoint also offers a view of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park. -
Casa Museo Don Bosco - This early 20th-century mansion belonged to the Gómez-Granadino family.
Inside, modernist style blends with traditional Andalusian decor.
The gardens provide a serene setting to appreciate the landscape’s beauty and enjoy Ronda’s tranquility. -
New Bridge - Standing 100 meters tall, it was an engineering marvel in the 18th century and remains the main connection between Ronda’s modern and old towns.
-
Plaza de Espana - The guided tour concludes here.
Afterward, visitors have free time for lunch or independent exploration.
Following lunch, the return journey to accommodations on the Costa del Sol begins. -
Palacio de Salvatierra - Known for its stunning facade, this palace has remained in the same family since its construction after Ronda’s Christian conquest.
