Amazing Views of the Island from Sea - We had such friendly and knowledgeable guides and there's absolutely no feeling comparable to seeing the fins emerge from the water

Fantastic! - Capt. Jeff and Mickael were both knowledgeable and super friendly. They used a hydrophone to locate Sperm whales and took us right to them. Along the way we flying fish and brown boobies. We watched first one pod breathing at the surface before diving, and then moved to second location where the pod had calves. One of the babies swam right up to the boat to get a better look at us. 10/10 - this is a must do!

Fishing and Whale Watching - We did a private fishing and whale watching trip with Captain Jeff and his cousin Captain Mikhail aboard Morning Glory. We were catching snapper close to shore, waiting for friends to share information on the location of whales. After about two hours, we got a tip on sperm whales, about 9 miles offshore. We pulled up the lines, and headed that way. When we got there, not a whale in sight. So, they were like, sorry, they must have headed further out. We’ll head closer to shore, trolling for fish on the way in. After about thirty minutes, we hit the jackpot, we ran into about 20 pilot whales, they hung around for about an hour. It was incredible. What made it even better was to see how excited the captains were, they have been doing this for years and still love what they do. It was amazing trip. After the whales left, we started fishing again, and pulled in a ton of fish near a seaweed mass in the ocean. I would definitely recommend these guys. It was a great day. Patience paid off!!!

What are you waiting for?! - Don’t hesitate booking this experience with Waitukubuli Adventures! Tiffany and Captain Bean really made this experience special from start to finish. Definitely dress to get wet whilst searching for the whales and dolphins. But honestly so worth it. Rum punch to finish was a nice touch. Only had videos of Dolphins - Soz!

An unforgettable experience. - Our 9-day stay in Dominica included two whale-watching trips with a fantastic company. Despite a whale-less outing on Friday, where their impressive underwater listening equipment detected nothing (a testament to Mother Nature's unpredictability!), Tiffany's exceptional communication and offer for a second chance on Sunday was greatly appreciated. We took her up on it, and Mr. Beans delivered! By the second stop, he located whales, leading us to an incredible sight: two sperm whales with a calf. He was incredibly respectful, maintaining a safe distance while educating us on their behavior. We then had a closer encounter with a solitary, larger whale, followed by another smaller one. The company's passion for both whale conservation and providing unforgettable experiences is evident. Highly recommended!

Great guides, bad boat. - Let me start off by saying that the guides were great, however, the type of boat used to do the whale watching tours is a bit lacking. They use a centre console boat with a very SMALL canopy for the captain. That means that the guest have no sun protection. We spent 4 hours baking in the midday sun with no reprieve. It gets uncomfortable real quick 🔥. All I wish is for the boat have a bigger canopy.

Whale & Dolphin Watching - Roseau is the capital and largest city of Dominica. It was built on the site of the ancient Island Carib village of Sairi, it is the oldest and most important settlement on the island of Dominica. Over the last 2,000 years Arawak Indians from South America migrating through the islands settled here until the Europeans arrived in late 1500s. In 1599 the French established a small settlement and built a fort to defend it. From 1699 and 1784 the town exchanged French and British governments. It has been British since then. The name changed from Charlotte Town to Roseau. Today the Caribs still form 80% of the population.
Meeting outside the Information Office which is below the Dominica Museum we were led to a catamaran, after safety briefing we sailed out 5 miles from Roseau. It took an hour to reach the offshore whale feeding grounds. Engines were turned off and a hydrophone lowered on the side to echo locate any whale ‘speak’. It appeared optimistic when several clicks of ‘whale speak’ were heard but nothing appeared on the surface. It was explained that whales spend up an hour under water to feed and then surface to breathe for 15 minutes before the final dive to feed again. They dive to 2000 – 3000 feet deep where there is no light. In total darkness they locate their prey by echo-location. The diet consists of squid, sharks, skates, and fish that also occupy deep ocean waters. Sperm whales can consume about 3 to 3.5 percent of their body weight per day.
suddenly there is a spurt of water and air from a blowhole as they continue during those 15 minutes to hyper oxygenate their lungs to prepare for the next feeding dive. These whales were female sperm whales who were rearing their calves. We saw four whales with three calves, the males leave the area after mating and return the following year. These whales can live up to ninety years, weigh up to 80 tons can be 60 foot long and have usually one calf around every six years. Sperm whales have their blowholes on their side and not on the top. When ready to deep dive they arch their backs and show their fluke. The whales were about 250 yards away. The sight of the whales, calves and the flukes as they dive is worth the wait. After the dive they will not appear again for an hour.
Our next stop was to the dolphins’ area where they usually appear. The whales were on the west of the island while the dolphins were on the south side. The dolphins move fast; while the whales appear as floating logs the dolphins dart about not still at all, making it difficult to photograph them.
The pods we saw had several number in them. They were darting everywhere and with the sun against you, we were taking pictures ‘blind’. When not taking pictures we were admiring their skill swimming with speed. And it was so also with the calves. We were informed that the dolphins seem to like riding the pressure wave caused by the prow of the boat.
On the way back we were treated to, yes you have guessed, a Dominica version of rum punch. They brew and distil their own rum but this punch had been mixed with a Trinidadian rum. They also used cinnamon sticks along with the traditional nutmeg. It made a pleasant change from the other rum punches from the Caribbean.

Couldn’t get a response from excursion company - Our boat changed the all aboard time. We tried to contact the excursion company by email and text and never got a response. We ended up not going because we couldn’t be sure we’d be back in time. Just wish I could have spoken to someone.

DONT DO IT WITH THIS COMPANY - I would not recommend this company at all.
Our group were put on 2 small boats neither of which was as advertised.
The first boat broke down 3 miles out, couldn't be helped of course, but there was absolutely no contingency plan as to how they would get back to shore and after a frantic message to driver friend were towed back.
Our boat skipper who was clearly not in a good mood that day started off well, until he gave us our rum punches then proceeded to drive a such a speed that we were being lifted off our seats, spilling our drinks and when we asked him to slow down, he first refused then did not and did not stop again to listen for dolphins and drove us straight back to shore. We did not see anything which again cant be helped however we were not given one last opportunity and the trip was cut short.
Lastly no rep from the company was on shore to greet us when we got back which considering the other boat had broken down was not professional. I have been in touch with the company who again does not want to hear anything.

All Aboard, NO!! - Unfortunately, it was not the experience we hoped for. The waves were too high for us to be out at 3 - 5 ft to begin and 5-7 ft. on the return. We didn't see a whale, dolphin or a fish. We traveled 6 miles out in choppy seas without other boats nearby. When we returned to our ship we learned that they had cancelled the excursion. I have a fear of drowning, and this experience has set me back.
