A pleasant experience - This is an entertaining show, featuring especially sheep, but also a dog and some geese. It is informative but also fun and funny. After the show, guinea pigs, bunnies, cows, and lambs are on display. Some audience participation is involved. The gift shop is ok.

If you only do one thing in Rotorua, do this - Great to take overseas friends to have a taste on NZ life on a farm. So well done from the show to the feeding animals to the kiwifruit and honey tasting. Cows, sheep and so much more.

Farm experience - great for city folk to learn - Fun experience of learning about the different breeds of sheep at the farm, seeing a sheep shearing demonstration and watching sheep dogs at work. It was great to go feed the sheep and alpacas as well.

Great experience at the Agridome! - I really enjoyed my entire Agridome experience. I learned so much about sheep & shearing & dogs & whistles & auctioneering & cows & milking from Shane the Sheep Shearer! A big thanks to Shane for entertaining us! Leanne was our wonderful Farm Tour Guide who drove us around to see many animals…sheep, alpacas, red deer, & more. I highly recommend the Agridome Farm Experience!

Disappointed - I visited the Agrodome over 30 years ago and my memory of the visit far exceeded this recent experience. The dogs misbehaved and so did the sheep. The host did not seem to have good control of the animals. We brought friends thinking it would be a great account of New Zealand farm life, but we were disappointed in the show.

Fun Show, So-So Tour - We opted to see the farm show and tour after a visit to the Kiwi Hatchery. The farm show is better than the tour in my opinion and features a lot of sheep, a sheering demonstration, and some dogs running around on stage. It was entertaining and included the opportunity for some photo ops. The farm tour, on the other hand, wasn't that great in my opinion. You basically toured around the farm grounds, but it didn't appear the area you tour is really the working farm. Instead, it is several opportunities to feed and pet various farm animals. This felt more like a petting zoo that was strung out with a tram tour. If you've spent any time at these types of attractions, you do not need to do this one. Overall, it was an average experience. If you are out here, I'd recommend the Kiwi Hatchery experience far more than the Agrodome.

Very Underwhelming - The show came highly recommended to us as an impressive display of sheep obeying. The person who recommend it said it would be worth it to go out of our way to see. His last experience at the Agrodome was several years ago. We arrived and I was shocked by the price and the inflexibility of the tickets. Having grown up around farms we had no need or desire to go on a tour of a farm. The kiwi hatchery tickets were separate and also very pricy. You are unable to combine a show with seeing the hatchery. We decided to attend despite the price due to the raving recommendation. We were sorely dissatisfied by the show itself. We could not hear what was going on due to the poor acoustics, and the animal display was ok, but not nearly as prestigious and well executed as we expected. The sheep went to their stand with food and were immediately clipped in. That’s not exactly “obeying.”The quality has seemed to plummet over the years and the price has skyrocketed. It has become a tourist trap, and is no longer a quaint family farm. If you have never had a farm experience before it may be worth it. Otherwise save your money and do something more exciting.
