Hell’s Gate was Heavenly - We absolutely loved our experience at Hells gate. The mud baths were definitely a highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed listening to our guides. We learned a lot about the history of New Zealand..

A great family day out! - We had the best time at Hells Gste today. Our guide who did the 1030am tour (15.04.25 - so sorry I dont remember his name) was outstanding. So funny and well informed. We really enjoyed the walk and learning about the different pools. We also did the carving experience which was great fun and great keepsake of our trip. The mud pool was my favourite of the pools and has left my skin feeling amazing! Had such a great day. Thanks for the experience.

Hell’s Gate - We booked the Hell’s Gate experience which included a guided tour, time in the mud baths and pools, and time to do some Māori carving. The tour was very interesting and informative and our guide shared personal stories which really brought to life the culture and the area. The mud baths were fun and relaxing as were the hot pools. We were also able to book the complimentary shuttle which made the whole trip relaxing and an overall great experience!

Great activity. Good value. - The walk and carving were the highlight for me. The mud and sulphur pools may be more enjoyable with others. The staff were amazing. The café was awesome too - I had lunch and didn't need any dinner.

Hells Gate - connect to the gate - Great experience of the thermal environment - the name already tells you what to expect for the walk. The option to craft something to bring back home is such a beautiful way of connecting to the place, thanks for providing such a wonderful experience. The mud and pools are well organized, the bath is clean, not over crowded and the stuff has been super nice along every step. In total I spent 4 hours and would always return.

Very fun, but the mud... - Very fun, but the mud leaves you a bit stinky for a few days even after showers. Also half the walk was closed when we went, but I don’t think that was anyone’s fault

Meh - The walk is pretty boring, if it’s your first geotermal walk ever then perhaps it may interesting but otherwise it’s solidly lowest comparing to Lassen, Yellow and Iceland. The spa was just ok, their locker system is laughable and guy handed us somebody else’s valuables 😂. Very overpriced for what that is.
