• Westnieuwland 501 - Customers will be taken on a three-hour food tour, where they’ll pass by local and unique places while they discover the city through its cuisine. The customers will discover Rotterdam through their taste buds. The tour includes:

• 7-8 tastings, with optional drinks;

• a food and travel loving tour guide;

• a personal e-mail before and after the tour with food and travel tips about the Netherlands;

• a secret recipe to make a Dutch dish at home.

Activity details:

1. Dutch cuisine: street food style, eat it outside/on the way
2. Japanese cuisine: sweet dish, eat inside of a Instagramable, cute restaurant
3. Surinamese, Indonesian and Javanese cuisine: try a few savory and sweet dishes from cuisines that has influenced how we know the Dutch cuisine today
4. Surinames meets Rotterdam: try Rotterdam’s famous Sandwich
5. Bakery: we end with a sweet treat in the park

Immerse yourself in the local culture for a better grasp of Dutch life. Embark on a mini exploration journey, sampling unfamiliar fares that you didn’t even know existed. Push your boundaries. Make new acquaintances. This is the relaxed method of experiencing a new city on a leisurely afternoon, scouting landmarks, discovering charming hidden spots, conversing with the locals and gaining insight into the city and its food culture. One thing’s certain: you won’t require any additional meal for the day.

So, what’s the plan?

Either I or another passionate foodie tour guide will lead you and the rest of the group on a three-hour culinary trek through the city. We’ll enjoy some of the dishes indoors and others we’ll savor on the move. You have the option to purchase beverages at the restaurants we’ll be visiting (beverages aren’t part of the package!). During the tour, you’ll be treated to some interesting trivia about Rotterdam and the background of its cuisine, but don’t anticipate a 3-hour historical lecture from us. We engage, we enjoy, we consume and we quench our thirst. Can’t wait to dine with you!
