A must visit for nature lovers - This was by far the biggest Zoo I have ever seen. I would highly recomment this we where in total 8 persons including two persoons in a weelchair and one child. The facility is proper for all ages. Many atractions as well as souveniers shops, resraurants, bathrooms.

Great day out - Very good value for money. Huge with lots of interesting facts. Also breeding programme for some endangered species. Environmentally friendly. Just a few stops from the port and in total 10-15 minutes walk. Got water taxi back for €5 good fun but not for those of you with a bad back.

Simply fantastic - Absolutely fantastic. Really fabulous zoo with an amazing range of animals in humane enclosures. The aquarium was out of this world. It takes several hours to visit all the exhibits in lovely landscaped settings.

Fab zoo! Great for adults and children alike! - The zoo is fantastic. Lots of different animals to view. Loved it. Only small complaint being that I think the sign posts could be better and easier to get a bearing on where to see what animals. So, maybe have them numbered as in 1, 2, 3, and so on. And on the map too.

Surprising! - On a very cold Friday we decided to go here. It was very quiet and that appealed to us. We really love zoos but we had never been here before. It seems to be a very old zoo but amazingly large and the animals seem to have enough space. We didn't think Blijdorp was so big. They are also committed to species and nature conservation of global species and areas and you can read that everywhere Seen beautiful animals and learned things again. Have a nice day.

superb zoo but the capybaras are gone - I came with my family to see the capybaras. I had seen videos on youtube that showed the capybaras of Rotterdam Zoo. But on the spot we discovered that the Amazon section is closed. So no capybaras. Staff told us that this Amazon section is permanently closed because it cost too much to maintain. Then we used the app, but it's not easy: you can't search for the animal you want to see, you have to choose from an incomplete list, and it's long, impractical.

Dirty toilet - Normally I’m not such a whiner, but this went a bit too far... okay that there can be some pests here and there is understandable with all the animals and the food, but there were just rats walking through the walkways during the day. I spotted 5 of them in the 3 hours we were there. Then we wanted to have a drink somewhere in the park and use the toilet, what I found there I really hated, trash cans that were so full that people started throwing it next to it. Then I opened the first best toilet that was free, there was a lot of faeces with paper on the floor... it didn't seem like the toilets there were cleaned every day. Furthermore, it is a really beautiful park, super nice! I hope the staff pick it up

Disappointing - We went with our son and his children. We used to have a subscription from Blijdorp and that was a party every time we visited. Now we found it very disappointing. Part of the zoo was closed and so were the restaurants except for a few. We had coffee and wanted something to go with it. A lot of what they offered wasn't in stock. Then lunch in the restaurant near the aquarium. Really a low point. Again almost nothing to get. We had cheese sandwiches because you want something anyway. Especially the children. These were rock hard and we really think they had been in the wamhoud oven from the day before. The enclosures of a number of animals also seemed neglected to us. In short, we had warm memories of Blijdorp, but now it was very disappointing. That too for the full price of € 29,50.

What a disappointment!!!! - Today with our son and grandchildren to Blijdorp. In the past always very nice and good to go here but now really just disappointing. A lot of the accommodation looks very neglected and also a lot is closed, or there are no animals, but you have to pay the full entrance fee of 29.50 euros. And then the hospitality industry what a sad affair. Price quality in no proportion. First drinking coffee from what we wanted to order was already much out of stock and that at half past ten in the morning. Lunch on the occasion in the oceanium, really outrageous. Again in answer that we have nothing on some products and what was there, was not to eat old rock hard paninis, cheese roll where you can break your teeth!!! In short Blijdorp for us no more, what a mockery!!!!

Very bad! You pay for nothing. - Really disappointing! You literally pay for a little greenery (trees branches flowers etc.) and a few animals you MAY be able to see. Really a waste of money.
