It is a premier destination for ice climbing in winter, yet it remains captivating throughout all seasons.
In the summer and fall, visitors can enjoy an abundance of wildlife and floral beauty, along with spectacular views of the Finnish countryside. Keep an eye out for naturally delicious berries and mushrooms as well!
The varying altitudes can be somewhat challenging, with the fitness level rated as easy to moderate. The entire 30km hiking trail in Korouma is considered demanding, but this day trip will follow the easier, nationally recognized ~5km hiking trail. If you can manage walking up and down, this hike is suitable for you. At lunchtime, the guide will light a fire for a light BBQ. Make sure to charge your cameras and prepare to capture the natural beauty of Korouma Canyon.
On the return journey to Rovaniemi, there will be a stop at another protected forest area, offering the opportunity to admire the stunning Auttiköngäs falls.
