Best day in the Barossa! - Wow, Wow, wowsers!!!! We loved this experience. Simon Hicks the head chef, spent time explaining their garden , planting for the restaurant, and history of the winery.
His banter and sense of humour kept us entertained for hours. The staff very very professional and amazingly attentive. We watched the chefs at work ( Adrian, Josh and Charlotte) who all showed their skill under the watchful eyes of Simon. Our day at St Hugo sampling the food and wine were the absolute highlight of our visit to the Barossa.
Don’t miss out on this wonderful experience ……..Simon made our day so much fun while we indulged in being wined and dined.
10/10!

World best - This was an outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived at this beautiful winery with its ironstone buildings and architectural modern additions, we were cared for with grace and humor. A glass of champagne in front of a roaring fire was only the start. Chef, Simon Hicks, and his team were passionate about fresh, seasonal food with the emphasis on taste. The trip to the kitchen garden gave us insight into the philosophy that Simon is bringing to his food offerings, with the menu changing monthly to reflect the best seasonal produce. The experience of watching the chefs prepare our menu was theatre. The banter, knowledge and warmth made us feel special. Both the food and the matching wines were outstanding. We had some great vintages. The experience exceeded our expectations many times over. We loved it so much we have already booked the same experience for January, to showcase the Barossa to some American visitors. Well done to all at St Hugo. We travel the world and have never had better. We are very fortunate to have the Barossa and venues of this caliber.

A must do experience. - The most amazing day. From the garden to the plate and everything in between, so close to the action you felt like you were part of the kitchen. Fantastic food and the most helpful staff. A must do experience.

Must do for a Barossa Visit - Unfortunately due to staff constraints we were unable to do cooking class. However we were given plenty of notice and we’re accommodated differently.
We still had a wonderful walking tour of garden with chef and front of house manager. With informative history of buildings and winery. We had a wonderful tasting experience. Followed by a 4 coarse lunch (with special extras from chef). Complementary wine with food, topped off by a complementary bottle to take home.
Staff were lovely, service exceptional and food amazing. Highly recommended.

Inclusive and fun - Inclusive and fun. Felt special from the moment we arrived to when we left. We literally picked everything we ate from the garden, bar the protein.
Jackson, our chef, was keen to share his knowledge and tips. Highly recommend.

Informative and delicious - We really enjoyed discussing the garden produce and got loads of growing tips. We also found out about lots of flowers and other parts of the plants we were growing but didn't know we could eat. We got great tips on how to cook our lunch and helped to prepare it with our lovely Chef.
The food was great and so was the wine. We had a fabulous day. A great experience for anyone who grows veggies and herbs at home, or just wants to taste food so fresh the flavours were wonderful.

Fabulous St Hugo - My wife and I had a fabulous time in the Barossa Valley over the weekend, the highlights being a pre lunch winery tour and wine tasting, followed by a degustation dinner and wine tasting (and drinking) all at the fabulous St Hugo’s Estate. The wines were brilliant and superbly matched for dinner by the head chef who, together with the chief winemaker, explained how each wine complemented each dish. All of the staff were unfailingly pleasant, very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. We’re from Sydney but are planning to go back with friends in the near future to repeat what was a truly fabulous experience all over again.

Interesting but rather limited - Josh our chef was just amazing! The best part was having an experienced chef explain the ins and outs of making a meal from garden to plate. Our disappointments are only around the fact that over the 3 hours we spent together we could easily have had an entree (maybe made from the salmon rather than having two proteins with the main? Or just some cheese ... with the lovely French bubbles) and a dessert (even if it just came from the kitchen). Having been to Hentley Farm the day before and having 14 courses for less money, it was rather a contrast.
