Volcanoes National Park - A guide or company representative will pick up the operator from their hotel in Kigali or from the airport if arriving on a morning flight. The journey begins with a city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where over 25,000 genocide victims are respectfully buried. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before being transferred to Musanze – Volcanoes National Park for a 1-hour cultural tour, followed by an overnight stay at a hotel.
Gorilla Trek – Kigali. Travel time: 2 hours
Volcanoes National Park - After an early breakfast at 6:00 am, the operator will be transferred to the park headquarters with a packed lunch at the Office of Tourism in Kinigi. Here, a ranger will provide a briefing on the rules and regulations for Mountain Gorilla tracking before heading into the jungle to find these gentle giants. The gorilla trek can last from one to six hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Although the trek is challenging, it is highly rewarding. The operator will have an hour with the gorillas to take as many photos as desired. After the trek, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Kigali, where the operator will be dropped off at their hotel or the Kigali airport for an evening flight.
