Day 1: Kigali Airport to Volcanoes National Park
Volcanoes National Park - Upon arriving at Kigali Airport, travelers will be warmly welcomed by our tour guide/driver, who will provide a brief overview of the Gorilla tour before transferring them to Volcanoes National Park in the northwest region of the country. If time permits, a short city tour of Kigali can be arranged, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Museum, which serves as a poignant reminder of the tragic events of 1994. Visitors will gain insights into Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times through the 1994 genocide and its impact on the Rwandan people. Following the city tour, the journey to Volcanoes National Park continues. The scenic drive from Kigali to the park features beautiful rolling hills and passes by coffee, tea, and banana plantations on a well-maintained paved road, taking approximately 3 hours. In the evening, there is an optional canoe ride at Mukungwa. Afterward, guests will be transferred to their lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Kigali Airport
Kigali - Guests will rise early for breakfast and prepare to depart their lodge at 6:30 am for Gorilla Trekking. At the park headquarters, guides will be assigned and provide a briefing. Each Gorilla Family can be trekked by only eight people. Led by experienced ranger guides, the group will search for Mountain Gorillas in the forest, a journey that can last from 2 to 6 hours. Once located, guests will spend an hour observing the gorillas as they move, feed, play, and rest—an unforgettable experience. It is recommended to wear long pants, long-sleeve shirts, hiking boots, gaiters, and a rain jacket. After the trek, guests will return to Kigali. Meals provided include breakfast and lunch, with drinking water included.
