Visitors will have the chance to observe large mammals and a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffes, gazelles, impalas, baboons, oribis, Burchell’s zebras, topis, bushbucks, leopards, and the recently reintroduced lions and rhinos in the park. Additionally, crocodiles and hippos can be seen, along with a significant variety of birdlife, boasting over 525 identified species, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. The park is renowned for hosting the African Big Five: lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and African buffalo. The Akagera game viewing drive lasts approximately 5-6 hours in the park. Visitors will enjoy a packed lunch at the picnic area, exit the park in the late afternoon, and return to Kigali.
