Two great days with Ethos, walking and eating! - Two days, two walks, wonderfully tailored to our requirements. First, we were welcomed by Hoa and her team and given a very professional summary of what to expect and what to be careful of.
The highlights were our two guides LaLa and May Linh and the two families they introduced us to. We felt privileged to get a little insight into there lives and enjoy the fabulous lunches they served us.
Other highlights were the very different farming methods and scenery that we experienced during our well curated two half days of walking.

Fab Day Treks in Sapa - Just experienced two fantastic day treks organised by Ethos . Highly recommend this company. They communicated with us well and organised two great hikes . The guides (Lala and May Linh) were both fabulous! So friendly and great English speakers. We learnt so much about their respective cultures and village life . We enjoyed lunch with two lovely host families and really enjoyed helping them prepare lunch, learning more about their daily life and of course eating great food ! Thank you Ethos for a fab authentic experience in Sapa !!

Authentic!!! - Maybe the most authentic experience we have had as tourists. Ethos were able to taylor 2 days trekking to meet our needs and capability. Day 1 was the Spirit Trail with a wonderful guide, LaLa. Day 2 was a Red Dao walk with another exceptional guide May Linh. The guides were able to share lots of information on local life and customs. Lunches with host families was a real highlight. Did not see another tourist the whole time which was a wonderful change

Sustainable tourism at its best! - Excellent experience! Ethos tours really convinced us. Our family of 3 ( kid of 10) enjoyed every minute of the bamboo walk ! Stunning scenery, nice encounters, professional intro and outro by Phil and Hoa. This is sustainable tourism based on mutual exchange at its best. Our guide My and her family are wonderful people and made the homestay with them into an experience to remember forever. Karen, Natacha and Solan.

Truly incredible experience! - We did two tours with ETHOS, the Spirit Tree trek and one day on the motorbikes.
Our guide, Pang, for the walking trek was fabulous. We learnt so much about the culture of the area and loved the opportunity to have a delicious lunch with the local family.
The next day we did a motorbike tour with Phil and Cha who were both so lovely. The entire day was amazing, including our many stops and lunch in a local house. It truly was the most memorable trip.
Thank you so much to Phil and Hoa. Upon arrival in Sapa we went straight to their office and discussed our plans for the next couple of days. Over coffee Phil gave us background on the different tribes and the surrounding area which was a great introduction to our stay in Sapa. They also were kind enough to arrange our travel from Hanoi to Sapa and back which was more than generous.
We recommend everyone to use ETHOS when staying in Sapa! Words cannot describe the beauty of the area and the kindness of all the people we met x

Authentic experience in Sapa, away from tourists. - If you are looking for a truly authentic experience in the Sapa region, ethos is the right choice. We opted for the Buffalo Valley Trekking experience and it was nothing short of amazing. You will walk along paths, little beaten in the middle of rice fields, guided by locals living in local villages who will introduce you to their lives and that of their people. We would like to thank Ethos and in particular our guide Cha with whom we spent two special days.

Thank you! - We can’t say enough good things about ethos and all those a part of it. we had an amazing overnight trek and homestay and did a batik workshop another day . So glad we got this experience in Vietnam , it is truly unique and educational. Thank you Hoa and Phil for all your kindness and care. Thank you cha and My (sisters) - we did a day long batik workshop with My and so enjoyed our time with her and learning about her art. Thank you Do for your kindness in our time there. And thank you middle Cha for teaching us all about the plants and culture of the Black Hmong. All these young women are so smart and generous with their knowledge - it was such an honor to learn from them.

The most beautiful moments of my 4 weeks trip to Vietnam!! - My two experiences/treks with the Ethos team members were indeed the most memorable and loved moments of my entire trip to Vietnam. And that’s a bit to say, actually!!
The meeting with the Hmong and Red Dao people is simply inscribed forever in the heart!!
Hiking in these extremely beautiful landscapes (even in the mist), meeting family members, cooking with them, staying in their homes, being told a lot of stories of their simple but very rich life, is a unique experience and so far from tourism that you normally do.
There are still nuggets to discover!
I would like to thank all the ETHOS team (everyone I met) in three days. I heard some very sad news while I was on a trek, and all these people at heart were there for me and to comfort me! I will never forget that too!
Thank you very much!
And, I think we're going back to you next April, so much we loved

Incredible experience - the only way to see Sapa ethically - Ethos was an absolutely amazing authentic and ethical tour company. Hoa, Phil, Cho and all the guides were so lovely, helpful and generous.
I did the one day Spirit Tree trek and the two day Herbal Trail homestay with one day treking, one day embroidery workshop.
I loved both, but I'd definitely recommend the Herbal Trail. You start the trek a little further out of Sapa town so the walk is a little more isolated and views were absolutely spectacular. If you can I'd also definitely recommend doing a homestay, having the 2 days really allows for more cultural immersion and a fuller experience.
Both my guides were so lovely, teaching me about the area, graciously hosting me and being very lovely and open. During my whole three days of treking I only saw one other tourist - the paths ethos take are very much off the beaten path.
Couldn't recommend this company more, I had the best time.

Just awesome!! - We had a wonderful day and a really authentic, interesting tour. It started with a detailed briefing and exciting background information from Hoa and Phil. Then it started. Thao was a terrific companion, always with a happy laugh on her face, she told a lot and answered our 1000 questions. At Homestay we had a varied menu. We were allowed to help with the preparation and ate together and told a lot.
Thanks to the whole Ethos team, your commitment is just wonderful and we are grateful that we were able to get to know you. We wish you all the best and good luck. Thank you Cha, Thao and Ker for the helpfulness, tour accompaniment and delicious food!
