Eco Farms GT - Enjoy the most relaxed and accessible tour option through the quaint urban forest at Eco Farm! Discover their delightful gardens, café, market, and gift shop during your visit! This tour lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours. - Finca La Azotea - This is an excellent accessible birding option with flat and wide trails, offering great opportunities to spot specialist species like bushy-crested Jays and Band-backed Wrens. This tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
- Pastores - Embark on a hike from Pastores towards the Cumbre de Maltiox. This is a more challenging hike, but the effort is truly rewarding! Don’t miss the chance to see species like Slender Sheartail, Rufous-browed Peppershrike, and Common Squirrel-Cuckoo! This tour lasts approximately 3-4 hours and is highly flexible.
- Santa Catarina de Bobadilla - This tour provides breathtaking views that make the challenging hike worthwhile, along with the opportunity to see birds! Look for Northern Emerald Toucanets, Quail-Doves, and even Lesson’s Motmots among the mature forest on these beautiful trails. This tour lasts approximately 3-4 hours and is highly flexible.
- Earth Lodge - Explore the beautiful trails of El Hato after taking a complimentary shuttle from Antigua, searching for Blue-throated Motmot, Guatemalan Flicker, Northern Emerald Toucanet, and Blue-and-White Mockingbirds. Then, walk down to Earth Lodge for a meal or drink while enjoying stunning views of the volcanoes (the walk is worth it!). Take the complimentary shuttle back to Antigua at 12:30 pm.
- Antigua Mountain Trail - Finca El Pilar - Discover beautiful trails and climb to the lookout after visiting the hummingbird feeders! Finca El Pilar is a premier destination for birders in Antigua! This tour lasts approximately 4 hours and is highly flexible.

Rare birds oh and a weasel! - We just arrived in Antigua this afternoon and it started off with really warm welcome! We saw so many unique birds! Marty’s excitement knowledge and enthusiasm are contagious! We hiked up a trail through the forest and along some farms learning about birds their habitat and the area! We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this tour! Thank you so much!

10/10 Birding Experience - Marty is awesome!! His ability to identify birds is super impressive and you won’t regret booking a tour with him. We spent about 3ish hours birding and I learned a lot about Antigua & the birds of Guatemala with him. He shared a lot of knowledge about the local environment, very clearly respects the land & town, very personable, etc. Definitely one of my favorite experiences in Antigua. I was also very impressed with his ability to promptly make the bird list after we finished & send it over with pictures right away.

Excellent bird guide in Antigua - Our family had a wonderful time with Marty as our guide in el Hato. He is super knowledgable, and led us on a trek to a place we never would have found on our own. We ended up with a huge list of birds in our morning outing, including many lifers, while also learning a ton about the local area and natural environment. He was excellent with our 3.5 year old son, who was rather impatient at times, to make sure we really maximized the trip and had a lot of fun at the same time. He kept an e-bird list for us and shared it right away, along with capturing tons of great photos of the birds we saw as well. Highly recommend you reach out to him if you want a really personable, fun, and productive birding outing while around Antigua!

Marty’s your guy for Antigua birding - I’ve used a lot of birding guides over the years and for a young guy Marty is exceptional. Really excellent at bird calls and identification. Completely bilingual and knows his local ecology. Would recommend him in a second.

Wonderful Bilingual Birding Guide in Guatemala! - Superb experience. we saw almost fifty species of birds including super memorable ones like the woodpeckers in these pictures and toucans, swallows, doves, vultures, hawks, thrushes, warblers, jays, mockingbirss, thrushes and hummbingbirds which I couldn't photograph(I was using my phone)! the trail is FULL of birds so you are guaranteed to see some cool ones especially with the expert and friendly guidance by Marty who is very knowledgable and observant and will point out all the cool birds you miss to you. Free shuttle up and back from Antigua, and a very short ride. Highly recommend!! He also brings extra pairs of binoculars!

Great experience with Marty - I’ve used many birding guides over the years and for a young guy Marty’s birdsong recognition and identification skills are top notch. An added bonus is that Marty understands the ecology of the area in which you’re birding, as well as being completely bilingual. If you’re interested in birding in Antigua, Marty’s your guy.

Beautiful day birding at the Finca - Such a great morning out in nature! Marty was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable and fun. We had a chance to see some "new-to-me" birds to add to my list! As a newer birder, it's nice to get a chance to explore and learn more from someone who's patient and informative. Highly recommend!!
