From Luxor to the Red Sea - So let me begin. This trip will last the whole day. It’s a 3 1/2 hour trip from Luxor to Safaga. It’s not the funniest of journeys but the destination is amazing. Snorkeling in the Red Sea is just one of those experiences that come only once in a lifetime. Once you are there, you will have several instances to snorkel. They will prepare a home cooked meal which was surprisingly good. And you will be transported to a island in the middle of the Red Sea where you can relax and soak in the sun. After that, depending on the time, you might have another chance to snorkel and then you head back to Luxor. My driver was great but the drive is just long. We did stop for snacks on the way back.
If you can stand the 3 1/2 hour drive to and from Safaga, then I say this is a cant miss opportunity. Also, don’t worry about being a beginning snorkeler, it was my first time and the staff really worked with me.
