“Kabbalah” represents the mystical and historically secretive aspect of Judaism. For centuries, the public had limited access to these teachings. In the 16th century, the city of Zefat/Safed emerged as the center of these teachings. Many renowned Kabbalists taught here, including Rabbi Moshe Cordovero, “Alkabetz,” and the Holy Ari “Isaac Luria.”
Besides its Kabbalistic heritage, Zefat/Safed was also the home of Rabbi Yosef Karo, the author of the “Shulchan Aruch,” the most authoritative book on Jewish religious law.
The Kabbalah Heritage Walk is distinctive because it is led by individuals who have studied and been inspired by these teachings. At each site, participants will learn about the teachings of the relevant sage and their practical impact on contemporary global Judaism.
This program runs once daily from Sunday to Thursday starting at 1:30 pm, and on Friday starting at 11 am. Any other times must be arranged in advance and are subject to availability.
