- U Bein Bridge - Return to Mandalay via the Ava Bridge, constructed by British engineers along the Ayeyarwaddy River. En route, stop in Amarapura to stroll across the unique U Bein Bridge, a stunning 1.2-kilometer-long structure made from teak planks, reputed to be the longest of its kind in the world. In 1857, when the capital moved from Amarapura to Mandalay, the local mayor, U Bein, repurposed wood from the dismantled teak palace to create this magnificent bridge.
