The thrill of adventure is a siren call I can never resist, and the Boiling Lake Hike in Dominica was no exception. My journey began in the heart of Saint George Parish, where I met Charlton, who introduced me to Floof, our guide for the day. Floof was a master of his craft, balancing safety with excitement, and his knowledge of the flora and terrain was unparalleled.

The hike started with a burst of energy, and within minutes, I was drenched, not just from the humidity but from the sheer exhilaration of the adventure. The path was challenging, demanding a good level of fitness, but every step was worth it. Back at the base, Charlton and Floof welcomed us with open arms and a few shots of spiced rum, known locally as Bush Rum. The warmth of the drink and the hospitality of our hosts were the perfect antidote to the chill of the water. As we shared stories and laughter, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the experience and the people who made it possible.

The road back to town was temporarily blocked, giving us more time to savor the moment and enjoy a few more shots. It was a fitting end to an incredible adventure, one that left me with memories to last a lifetime.
