Normandy VIP Tour - Awesome! - We went with the VIP tour and it was excellent, worth the money. It was just my husband and I and one other couple on this tour. Our guide, Zoltran, was excellent and gave us a much deeper tour of Normandy than the other larger groups get. He was VERY knowledgeable on Normandy and clearly enjoyed his job as a guide. We loved the fact that it was a very small group and the drive to Normandy took about 2.5 hours and was very comfortable in a nice van. Highly recommend this more intense tour to immerse yourself in the experience of Normandy.

This tour puts history first. - Thorough and very informative tour of D-Day beaches and Pointe du Hoc. Our guide Zoltan knows his military history and clearly has a passion for it. Enjoyed the tour immensely.

Nice outing from Paris with interesting history to witness - Was a nice outing. A historical place with so many interesting facts to know. If you a free day & nothing more to do then suggested to visit it. It will take almost full day

Disappointing Guide - Both my husband & I are veterans and we took this tour to explore history & honor those that served in WWII. Our guide, Voltair, gave limited information and evaded questions. While other tours were hearing history with their guide, ours disappeared at the stops. Juno beach was completely by-passed. At one point he said he wanted us to have time to shop for souvenirs. I am glad we went but wished we had a better guide.

Tour guides make or break a tour! - The tour guide talked about himself and his accomplishments, a lot!!! Then he down played the role of the American contribution to the invasion. All countries sacrificed but for him to say Canada sacrificed the most was not part of history. At Omaha beach he never pointed out where the Germans were but said the Americans only had to move a few meters off the landing craft to a secure rock wall. Nothing about Utah beach sword or Juno. He was supposed to be this military Hungarian officer who had tons of experience but I found him to be uneducated in military doctrine. You’re better off renting a car and planning your own experience of Normandy. It’s a full day because of the huge area. I also want to note the monuments are just weird.. Omaha with a bunch of metal/razor blade looking things nothing that really says this is where the start of France’s occupation of the German essentially ended. Went to to louvre and I hate art the tour guide was awesome and wanted to engage more. This guide for Normandy made me have a bad taste in my mouth!!! One thing about war it’s LOUD and he said nothing about communications.. Yaa not recommended!

Do not use Viator - Know who the third party is who is organizing the tour. Viator is not the organizer they just take reservation and pass it off to another touring group. I would not use Viator go directly to tour group in the country you are touring and make sure you check the reviews before booking.

Viator/Tripadvisor does not have your back!! - My husband and I arrived 30 minutes early but soon realized we were at the wrong branch of the hotel meeting spot. We called Paris City Vision 15 minutes prior to departure to let them know we would be paying for an uber to arrive as soon as possible. They said they would let them know we would be 10 minutes late. Upon arrival, we were told that despite verifying the receipt of the message, that particular tour guide “doesn’t like to run behind schedule” and departed at 7:05 instead of 7:10. We were marked as a no-show. Viator/Tripadvisor sided with the company stating I had “no proof” they agreed to wait. No where on this booking does it say they will not wait for late arrivals. I have taken many group trips and on MANY occasions we have waited for people especially on the full day trips that are expensive, like this one. So disappointed in all parties involved!
