Visit with children - Fantastic experience, very well organized and not even monotonous for non-enthusiasts, they made available a tablet for children who made them do a virtual treasure hunt of objects of the time. That's really funny!

Guided tour of the village battle - We chose the guided tour of the Battle of Sainte-Mère-Eglise, organized by the Airborne Museum. A very competent young guide took us to the different corners of the square to tell us the history of the village, from the German occupation, to the liberation full of very interesting details about the night of June 5 to 6 and the events that followed. Recommended activity.

Best in Normandy! - The museum is the most complete thing we saw in Normandy. Several pavilions with very wide and interactive exhibitions. From virtual pre-launch talks to touching and holding military equipment used during Operation Overlord. The truth is that it makes the visit totally immersive and entertaining. The museum is very extensive, and I think it is something to consider when organizing the visit. More than 2 hours quietly... Of course, it is very well organized and run. In addition, one of the positive points that we valued the most was having an audio guide. Yes, you heard well, finally an audio guide in Normandy. I had already given up hope of finding her... A kind of tablet that helps complete information, and that is included in the price of admission. Admission costs 12€, and I recommend buying it in advance. Also, you have to choose time slot. The latter is important, as they avoid crowding.

A good museum that just falls short of great - Nice facilities, labeling in English and French, a good collection of materials, yet… …there is a massive flaw in the darkness of the museum sections devoted to the landings. The plaques are nearly unreadable in the darkness, especially the English sections, which are printed in red. While the French sections, in white, can be made out with effort, the red is completely washed out in the dimly lit building. Also, while the Pegasus Museum at the other end of the landing sites near Caen tells you about the discount at the Airborne Museum if you show your receipt there, the Airborne museum make no mention of the discount at the Pegasus Museum. Disappointing, as the two together provide a richer explanation than the Airborne Museum alone.

Exciting and interactive museum on the mission of parachute soldiers - Exciting museum where we both saw the plane flight simulator, could try a parachute and could get a good understanding of parachute missions and life. We also got the story of the parachute soldier John Steele who was stuck on the church tower at St More Eglise Church, which is right next door. We were a family consisting of two adults and two children of 11 and 14 that triggered a families discount for us. We spent about 2 hours in total. We were delivered iPads that helped revive the story. After the visit we went for a little walk in the village St More Eglise. A little tip we’ve seen the TV series “comrades in war” or “band of brothers” as an introduction to the visit with our fourteen-year-old son.

Must see location. - A superb museum dedicated to those brave men who liberated Europe from fascist tyranny 81 years ago. Must see. Very informative, and well equipped. Give yourself several hours to explore the exhibits.

Pleased we went but not happy with lack of facilities for Mobility - We Stayed in the Normandy Area following the 80th V E Anniversary to visit places of Interest. Our visit to the Museum was Slightly Disappointing as Parking was not helpful ie machine.ITicket prices were displayed with reduction for Veterans but when requested we were swiftly advised No!! Obviously they don't cater for other Nationals!! Attitude of Staff Very Short,(but not unusual) We were impressed by the Museum Display But Not by the Entrance& Exits as Totally Inadequate for Anyone with Mobility issues. No Door for exit to press & get out so Anyone In a Wheelchair alone would have to go back to reception for Release.!!! Shame really as this would be visited by many ex military but staff were not in tune with the History.
